You know, I've been thinking, it would have been great to get a movie that was set in between AotC & RotS. I would like this so that we could get a better feel for the bond these Jedi had with their clones. I know we have the whole Clone Wars series and all, but a real live movie detailing this, maybe even including Ahsoka and Rex would be a great idea. Because we only really see the creation of the clones at the end of AotC, but don't really get a chance to develop feelings for them until they are ordered to give Order 66. It would also show us how Obi Wan and Anakin go on to tighten their relationship as Master & Apprentice.

If there was ever a live action movie developed by Disney set between the events of Ep. 2 & 3, what do you think it should be about? Who would you want to direct it?

Im going to be frank with you man, the clone wars really does that job to fill in that time period between AOTC and ROTS. We see many major battles, we see many major separatists leaders, and we are introduced to a load more of clone troopers individually along with some super cool clone battalions. It would be hard for Disney to incorporate new battles and new characters.

Yeah, it would be cool to have a live action TCW, but it wouldn't be right if hayden didn't play annie, and from the looks of it there is NOOOO way he is going to do anything about star wars ever again...

Im sorry. I wouldn’t be on board with a CW live action. There is too much of a difference between Hayden Anakin and CW Anakin, lol lol!

I think the coolest part of a live CW would be a live action Ahsoka! I want that so bad...

No thanks. A standalone between 1 and 2 though - I'd be down for that.

Yes, I would like to have a movie set between 2 and 3 episodes. I wish to see Ahsoka Tano, General Grievous and Kanan Jarrus. And what about Darth Maul? We know that he was alive because we see him in Solo.

Pretty much every single thing that happened between episode 2 & 3 was show in excruciating detail (about 60 hours worth of content) in The Clone Wars. Surely this can’t be what people want?

There's 30 years of barely touched timeline between 6 and 7. If we ever get another stand alone “story”, I vote for a Luke movie (starring Sebastian Stan) set after RotJ...

I thought we were already getting a live action Ahsoka on The Mandalorian? Or at least that was a rumor.

While I'm positive to any and all new SW live action initiative, the 22BBY-19BBY period isn't high on my list, really. I'd actually be much more interested in seeing something set between TPM & AotC; that'd be rad! :D

I think a lot of what happens in Episode 2 and 3, at least character wise feels pretty rushed. Anakin's descent and and turn/his entire relationship with Padmé, all of these are things that I would love to see explored further in live action. But that isn't really what you're asking and it's pretty big impossibility considering Natalie Portman and Hayden Christensen are both 1 year away from turning 40 and as good as they still look, it would be a bit of a stretch to ask them to portray characters that are about 20 years younger. I think the type of movie you're talking about has already been shown in detail, with great success in The Clone Wars, and I'm not sure a live action version of that is all that necessary.

Agreed. To be honest, I’ve always felt like the Prequel Trilogy as a whole really could’ve been consolidated a bit so the weight of it didn’t fall onto Revenge of the Sith. It felt like most of the important events that tied into the Original Trilogy all happened in Revenge of the Sith. Having The Clone Wars to bridge the gap between the first two films and Revenge of the Sith definitely helped with that, though, and it was done so well that I don’t think there’s any need to revisit it. There are so many other Star Wars stories worth telling and I’m not sure that anyone wants to invest so much into retelling a story in live action form like that when most of the fans are pretty satisfied with the animated version.

Aesthetically, the idea of a movie between 2 and 3. I've thought since Rogue One that I'd love a similar gritty Clone Wars treatment in a film, and the brief flashback glimpses we saw in The Mandalorian only solidified that.

But what to make it on? The animation has already touched on so much, and I don't think any of the existing Jedi in canon would be a good fit.

The "Order 66 chip" storyline has already been done, as has the battle station above Geonosis.

I'm really having a hard time thinking of any major way to tie in a spinoff to the series as a whole. But I'd be interested in hearing any ideas.

They could adapt 'Dark Disciple' for live action I guess. It's basically a spinoff anyways.

Maybe, but I'm skeptical we'll see adaptations of existing stories.

And that's a Quinlan Voss/Asaaj story, right? Intriguing as that seems, I feel like they'd be better off just making new characters at that point.

One thing that might be neat- actually seeing the Confederacy. I guess the Clovis stuff showed us a bit of it, but it would be fascinating to get a glimpse of the war from a much more grey perspective- Clone Troopers coming as saviors but being seen as invaders, Battle Droids hailed as a technological miracle of protection, etc.

This is all far fetched hypothesizing anyway, yeah? Basically, a live action Clone Wars arc?
A proto-Rebellion with the Republic already viewed as an evil Empire? I wouldn't be mad at that :)

He did come back for The Rise of Skywalker and has been making more appearances at conventions. I wouldn’t count him out yet.

We may be getting that sooner than you’d think. ;)

Anyway, like others have said, we already have this era pretty extensively covered by The Clone Wars show and some books and comics. If somebody has a good idea for a film set during the Clone Wars, then I’m game, but I don’t want Lucasfilm to make a movie set during this era just to have it be set during this era.

I really want future movies to be set either before the prequels or after the sequels and I feel that that’s the direction Lucasfilm will go. So no more standalone movies set during the Skywalker Saga, but maybe something on Disney+.

I feel like flashbacks in Kenobi and The Mandalorian are our best bets for live-action content set during the Clone Wars.

I would've totally agreed with you, except The Clone Wars series really does this extremely well and I don't think we really need a movie being made to tell it anymore. That being said, I would certainly watch it and be excited about it if they ever did make one. Ron Howard and Jon Favreau have done the best directing Star Wars movies so far, so I'd want one of them doing it.

Heck yeah, there needs to be movies in between 2 and 3. And, let’s really be bold here: movies set before episode 1.
Lucasfilm is run by fans these last few years, and the fan-execs have decided that our attention needs to be fixed on the Age of Rebellion and Age of Empire. Even the stuff after episode 6 still feels like “age of empire”. I wish Lucasfilm can make content about what Star Wars NEEDS rather than what the fans WANT. I want to see the backstory how the Separatists started and rounded up star systems. I want to see the fall of the Senate (what made them so fragmented from the High Republic 200 years before?) Heck, I would love to see what kind of government the Resistance settled on after Rise of Skywalker (do they establish a New New Republic led by Poe Dameron or what?) So many questions.
