    @RoyleRancor I think I'm ready!

    EDIT: I totally messed up lol! Anyways, one at a time, starting with writer if that's okay.

    Writer: Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (they work as a team so I'm counting them as one. Let me know if you want that to change.)

    Nope. That's part of the game, deciding which you think is most important.

    The first pick is up.

    @Jayson is now up

    All of my picks attempt to honor the old tradition of picking lesser known people rather than AAA list names.

    Director:
    Sean Baker

    Why?
    Because he shoots with a documentarian style, but has a keen eye for artistic intent and cinema as an art.
    This works very well for the Star Wars form of cinema.
    He also, interestingly, blurs the lines between documentary and film in his cinematography, with a style as a whole that reminds me of Lucas' documentary style as well - as you can see in The Emperor (shown below).

    For comparison, here's Tangerine by Sean Baker.

    And The Florida Project - which has a bit more cinematic "movie" feel.

    Cheers,
    Jayson

    My first pick..

    Director:
    Stefan Ruzowitzky

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stefan_Ruzowitzky

    .. because he is an also internationally recognized Austrian Director who has proven that he is able to adapt to nearly every genre.
    Especially his last film "Narziss and Goldmund" reminds me a little bit of "The Name of the Rose" with Jean Connery and Christian Slater.

    https://m.imdb.com/title/tt9014656/

    In my opinion this kind of medieval setting is good place to start for directing a film in the Star Wars Universe.

    Ruzowitzky is also able to create great stuff as a screenwriter. A good example for what he is capable of as a writer is the film "The Counterfeiters"

    Hey guys,
    So... my first pick is for my film’s director... Damian Chazelle! He is best known for whiplash, lala land, and first man. He is a great choice for my character driven film.

    I am super exited to see all of your picks, but even more exited for the game as a whole!

    With the 6th pick, Starship Studios is proud to select Neill Blomkamp as our Director.

    Neill is best known for his work on District 9 and Elysium....his handheld camera style and amazing work with photo realistic CGI and his vision for spacecraft design make him an exciting addition to the Star Wars movie lineup. Neill’s movies have portrayed struggles against large powerful entities by the “underdog” or common man, and this will dovetail perfectly with our project. @RoyleRancor

    With the 7th pick in the 2021 Star Wars Movie draft... The Studio With No Name selects... Steve McQueen, director, London, England.

    Director was the first thing I locked down... and then yesterday I decided to change it. It isn't important to know who my original choice was, but as time went on I realized that I could never picture this person actually directing a Star Wars film even though the story suited them. Obviously this isn't real but something like that matters to me and it would've bothered me. Steve McQueen isn't a second choice, he's someone who completely slipped my mind when I was first looking at directors. He's a great fit for the story I want to tell and there's already a history and connection between him and my male lead.

    With the 8th pick in the 2021 Star Wars Movie draft... The Studio With No Name selects... Chiwetel Ejiofor, actor, London, England.

    Chiwetel will play the role of "Ete", (still deciding on last name) my male lead. This too was a position that I locked down very early in the process. As the story started to take shape Chiwetel's face immediately came into focus and it stayed there.

    With the 9th pick (2nd Round), Starship Studios selects Jake McDorman as the lead actor for our project. Jake is 34 yrs old with over 30 TV and movie appearances including most recently starring as Alan Shepard in the Disney historical drama "The Right Stuff".

    Jake fits the profile and is the right age range to portray a lesser known, but critical leader of the Rebellion, at an earlier point in his life.
