On the bright side, even if the worst happens, at least Luke can come back in 9 as a blue glowie.

I 'd like to see all the force ghosts come back and help Rey and Kylo defeat Snoke in Episode 9. Then they can all stand around and be happy at the end like RotJ. Hopefully Qui Gon will get a ghost body rather than being a disembodied voice

 

I don't see LFL taking Luke and having him set himself on fire. If he was to sacrifice himself, it would be in a lot different nature than setting himself on fire.

 

Saw one of the trailers earlier that shows Luke looking away while his hair blows around, as if he's seeing off a ship on the island.

Part of me thinks that although he eventually trains Rey he doesn't leave the island. Hope that's not the case but maybe they are saving his full return for the last film. Keep us wanting even more.

Hope I'm wrong, just a feeling I'm getting from how they have written him so far. Too much Luke kinda holds back Rey's story also. Everyone wants to see Luke and of course Rey is the main hero in this story.

Also just seen another that shows two porgs in the cockpit with Chewie in the Falcon with no one in Hans seat.

It's already been confirmed that Rey is the gunner during the Crait sequence in the Falcon. Does that mean it's just her and Chewie that leaves the island?

Obviously just pure speculation from my part but I'm leaning more towards Luke not leaving Ahch-To in this film than before.

Again, hope I'm wrong and I can't wait to see how this plays out in less than a week!!

I think the soundtrack leak hints at Luke being a factor towards the end of the film.

Track 19 has gotten me twitchy. Going to have to try and limit what I see now. Getting some bad vibes about Luke's story arc.

Could have dropped Luke off or Luke had to get some stuff for the Caretakers first...maybe he had to fill out paperwork before leaving since they are so picky about who stays.

 

He doesn't appear to leave with Rey and Chewy and I'm not sure if an X-Wing can fly missing an S-Foil wing. Luke used an S-Foil from his X-Wing to make a door to his hut. I guess it theoretically could fly as long he doesn't go into attack position.

 

If you like screaming Irish and British people, blood, Helen Mirren in her physical prime, and a scene ripped straight from ESB's dagobah cave sequence..........watch Excalibur. Jokes aside: its an awesome guilty pleasure.

For those concerned about Luke not leaving Ach-to, below is a reminder what Oscar Isaac said in the Vanity Fair article
