My idea for next Star Wars movies

I for one find that it would be difficult to make Episodes X-XII unless the ST gives material enough to justify a continuation of the saga. Considering many taking a skeptical stance on the ST being attached to the PT and OT, I'm not sure they'll be able to leave much open for a ST ST or TT.

I for one wonder if they'll be ambitious enough to start a new saga that isn't centered on the Skywalkers. Not a trilogy, mind you, but a set of 6-9 movies just like the Skywalker saga.

 

With all due respect my friend I have to disagree. If there is something that Star Wars has it's material to justify many many sagas be those trilogys or otherwise. The saga surrounding the Skywalker family is just a little piece of a larger world that is just ripe to be explored. Don't you think a trilogy of Bounty Hunter movies would be well recieved by fans? I sure do! I think that as long as they the new movies are well written and well made, fans would love to see lots of different aspects of the SW universe. I for one would love to see an underwater SW saga featuring such cool races like the Quarrens, Ishi Tibs, Nautolans and Aqualish!

 

I personally think it would be cool if your "Legacy" films would be films based on stories and such that are now considered Legends. Like a film of Shadows of the Empire \m/ \m/

 

IMHO, the Saga trilogies will always center around the Skywalker lineage. All other films/stories are going to be labeled Anthology. So, could you have anthology trilogies? Of course it is possible. But if you are going to have episode X-XII, XIII-XV, XVI-IIXX, etc, then they are going to be about Skywalkers.

In order to do this kind of thing, though, you've almost got to do it in a sort of Game of Thrones-esque way, because you're going to have to start to deal with a growing geneology of the lineage after generation 4 or so I would imagine, unless the story group keeps the lineage exceptionally and unaturally thin and direct. They will have to deal not only with direct paternal and maternal decendents, but also members of the family that carry the bloodline without the Skywalker name - cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, eventually.

Not every Skywalker is going to be a masterfully formally trained Force wielder. Leia already went a different path, presumeably remaining in the upper eschelon of the political arena. You could have Skywalkers wielding policitcal power, others prominent military figureheads, others heads of new "Jedi" orders, etc.

There would be plenty of story to tell, most likely, wiut straying from the Skywalker clan. In order to maintain the epic nature of the saga films, it would be folly to go away from it centering around the most influencial family in the far far away galaxy.
