IMO, I feel like the whole Snoke possessing Rey's or Kylo's body is too fantastical for the Star Wars cinematic universe. In EU, this could possibly be something that occurs, but Disney made all EU non-canon for a reason: because they wanted to take a different route and stay more loyal to the true nature of Star Wars.

On the other hand, the Plagueis theory is definitely a possibility, and you all bring up a good point that he is breaking down and will need something special to stay alive, which will probably be revealed in Ep. VIII given that it is going to be "weird" (See Forum about Lawrence Kasdan's comments on Rian).

Snoke's goal I think will be to forge a new order of dark side force users. I think at this point in the star wars timeline the sith are dead. I don't think we will see their return. Plagueis will have resurrected or stayed alive somehow, and as I read somewhere, he could say something like "the sith were weak, so I left them". The knights of Ren would most likely be this new order of dark siders. I think by abandoning the sith and the rule of two it makes sense for Plagueis to stay alive until the ST. It also gives us an opportunity to see more dark sider force users.

So there was this article I read a week or two ago that said something like "We don't know much about plot of episode VIII, but it's rumored that Resistance will continue fighting against The First Order and a new threat, Mandalorian army."
Would Mandalorians work with The First Order, or would they be a third separate party fighting against The Resistance and TFO? What's in it for them, why would they get themselves mixed up in the conflict, aren't they neutral civilization/culture?
Of course that's all assuming the rumor is even true, which it very likely might not be.

Based on the way Han and Leia talked about Snoke in a familiar sense, and the bit from the novelization that Snoke fears Luke, I now believe that he is definitely not DP, and is rather a former student of Luke's, and that his injuries came from Skywalker.

It would also help to explain why Luke withdrew from the galaxy, not only did his nephew turn, but he was turned by another student. Both of which would be major failures for Luke.

I think this also explains why "Rey" Skywalker was made "safely anonymous." He didn't trust in his abilities to prevent the temptation of the dark side in his students, especially the descendants of Anakin.

The look on his face is joy and sadness at seeing his daughter again. And finally, accepting her awakening and finding of Luke as the will of the Force.

This doesn't seem conventional but, I think it might be a resistance rise rather than a first order. That would be a cool direction.

    Good evening everyone.

Well, Episode VIII is less than a year and a half away, so I'll just pull out my Crystal Ball and try to predict what is going to be the plot of the next episode in the Saga.

Keep in mind that about the same time before Episode VII, I predicted the following, that ended to be right:

    - The movie will be the search for Luke Skywalker
    - Someone recovers Luke's saber and it serves our heroes to help them find him (well, sort of)
    - Han was to play the mentor figure to our new heroes.

    So... here it is:

    Star Wars Episode VIII

    - The emphasis on Anakin Skywalker "dual" legacy will become more apparent. Both sides of Anakin are guiding Kylo and Rey... Kylo is conflicted, so will become Rey in Episode VIII. While Luke tries to contain and guide Rey... Leia goes alone into a quest to turn Ben back to the light side.

    - Snoke manipulates Ben and the New Knights of Ren into finding Luke and Rey, trying to kill Luke and to bring Rey back to Snoke.

    - Finn, recovering from his injuries and Poe Dameron prepare the Resistance to face an imminent attack from the regrouping First Order after the destruction of the Starkiller Base. The First Order launch an all In air and ground attack on the Resistance's base.

    - Luke has discovered where to find the only key to destroy Snoke (Aka Darth Plagueis the immortal), and it's a run for them to discover the key before the Knights get to them.

At the end of this episode:

The resistance is crushed by Hux and the First Order.
Luke and Leia may discover they have to sacrifice themselves to save Rey and Ben from Snoke's claws.

What I foresee next is that Luke and Leia will probably sacrifice themselves to save Rey and turn back Ben... possibly with Luke turning to the Dark Side. Luke and Leia will kill Snoke, and Rey and Ben will have to kill Luke & The Knights.

Finn and Poe will manage to turn the conscripted Stormtroopers against Hux and Phasma.

I may be wrong on several elements, but what I am pretty sure about:

Rey will become a threat to everyone... even Luke.

Luke and Leia will sacrifice themselves to save the kids.

    Ben will turn back.

Finn will turn a huge chunk of the First Order against Hux and Phasma and save the resistance.

Luke is not dying in VIII it will cause a riot in the theaters.

Rey is not turning bad in VIII it will cause a riot in the theaters.

If Kylo turns to the light in VIII it will cause a riot in the theaters.

Everything else is a pure guess.

    :)

    As for what I predicted:

I don't think Rey will turn... I say she will be tempted - start to have conflicts... Her "awakening" in TFA will lead to that.
As for Kylo Ren... his character can go 3 possible ways: Either go full unidimensional Baddie in 8, be conflicted again or turn to the light... I bet on a mix of the first two, but maybe during the course of the movie, his mother comes into the mix and turn the tide, in preparation for Episode 9.
As for Luke... Bad news for fanboys is that he is not and will not be the main character for this trilogy. My prediction is IF we see him fight someone in Episode 8... he will probably die... or turn to the dark side.

Remember why Harrison Ford returned to Star Wars, what he wanted for his Han Solo character (to die)...
Now, remember what Mark Hamill would have loved to do with his Luke Skywalker character 30 years ago (to become evil)...

Nice concept. I like the almost "I amSpartacus" idea. Finn can lead the enslaved Stormtroopers to freedom.

I doubt Hamill will get what he wants because he's nowhere near as HUGE as Ford is in Hollywood .

    Good post.

I can see Luke dying for the Cause under the draining power of Snoke, with his final words echoing from a legendary battle long ago, "You have failed Highness...I am a Jedi, like my father before me."

I cannot see the same man that uttered those words turn evil and on those close to him.

I don't understand the "Finn turns the STs against the First Order" idea people've been throwing around

It's not like he has insight as to why he broke his own conditioning.

@MarsPhoenix - I love your idea of Luke and Leia defeating Snoke (Darth Plagueis). That's got me pretty excited! Definitely would like to see more of Leia in action

When Yoda said, in ESB, to OB-1, "No, there is another," it will turn out he wasn't referring to Leia.

There was another child/bloodline born of the force like Anikan...and that lineage has been hidden.

I know it's a stretch, but one hell of a twist!!!! *mischievious grin*

-If Luke isn't Rey's father, then he knew her parents. Either they were his students, or his good friends, or both, and he'd interacted with Rey as a young girl. Her parents fell afoul of the FO/KOR and had to flee. Believing that Rey would be safer on Jakku than with them, if the FO/KOR should catch up with them, her parents went their looking for Lor San Tekka, and old associate of Luke and Leia. But they were unable to find him, and so in desperation, hired Unkar Platt to look after her temporarily. They intended to come back for her, but were killed before they got the chance.

-Luke searched for them, and had others do so on his behalf, but eventually became convinced that ALL of them were dead. And he will keep this from Rey initially because he feels like he failed her and her parents.

-Luke was searching for a way to try and end the endless cycle of conflict between the light and the dark, and believed that if he could understand how the OG Jedi did things, and how they became so powerful/wise, he could gain the knowledge to do this.

-Kylo defeats Rey after a fierce battle, by exploiting her anger, overconfidence, and hatred of him, leaving her injured. Luke arrives and begins easily overpowering him and the other KOR, but his wounded as well. The FO shows up to back Kylo up, but are intercepted by Finn, Poe, and co. A big battle ensues, several known characters die, and Luke/Rey barely escape back to Leia with their lives.

I heard this Weird Theory on YouTube as to who Rey Really is:

Could Rey possibly be the re-embodiment of the Chosen One?
