During Diego Luna's guest appearance on Good Morning America, Lucasfilm released the main trailer and a new poster for the upcoming Disney Plus series Star Wars: Andor. The studio has also announced that the series will now debut on Disney Plus on September 21, with the first three episodes. We first saw some footage from the series back at Star Wars Celebration, but this is definitely a more extended look at what Tony Gilroy, Diego Luna, and company are bringing to the series.

    Check out the trailer here:

A new poster has also been released:

Here is the official synopsis for Andor:

The large ensemble includes Diego Luna, Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, Fiona Shaw, and Forest Whitaker, among others.

The first season of Andor will debut its first two episodes on Disney Plus on September 21. Toby Haynes, Susanna White, and Ben Caron directed episodes of season 1 (six, three, and three episodes, respectively). Tony Gilroy (five episodes), Dan Gilroy (three episodes), Stephen Schiff (one episode), and Beau Willimon (three episodes) are writers on season 1. A second season is currently in pre-production and will start shooting in October.

Did I spy one of the 'Two Tubes' brothers in there too?
This show really does look like it's going to be absolutely cracking!

Saw this a few mins ago too...

    1. Nice! Now we know what was being filmed when they were on the Dorset coast... and It. Looks. Great!

    2. Speculation is rife that the white-ish figure in the cave entrance (rear right) could also mean more screentime for the massively underutlised Moroff from Rogue One too! (And I for one would LOVE that!)

To be honest I didn't like the first teaser, but this trailer is awesome. The visuals are stunning (probably because they didn't use the Volume as much). I'm also intruiged about the the politcal theme.

This could be the best SW show so far.

Shouldn't you have the urge or goal to become bette and better? It's an on going progress. IMO the next show should be better than the previous one. Learning from your mistakes and experience. 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' was already better than TBOBF, now I want 'Andor' to be even better.

I hate to nitpick. But I can't ignore the apparently unmodified and easily recognisable AK-47, type weapon carried by the guy about 8 seconds into the trailer.

In the OT, WWII era weapons were modified to make them look like they instantly belonged in the star wars universe but retained some of the qualities of their original design to make them still appear viable. Tell tall signs of the original design though were usually disguised or incoprorated in a different way so as not to instantly give the game away.

The weapon seen in the trailer looks virtually indistinguishable from the one we've seen on the TV news nearly every night for about fifty years (and on the A Team). With the tell tale banana shaped clip loaded in the usual place, the way the barrel is configured and everything. You'd be forgiven for thinking they just slipped footage from a report on Ukraine when you see that shot. (apart from the actor's ethnicity making that seem unlikely).

Anyway. It's probably no big deal in the scheme of things but it distracted me right away when I saw the trailer the first time.

Is it the really the gun, that takes one out of the scene, or is it the ethnicity? I wonder?

Well, then I won't like it. I will talk about my dislikes and likes and move on. What's the big deal? There's plenty content which I like AND dislike.

Because that IS actually me in that costume. Haha!

As I said, the ethnicity of the actor is what made it not immediately resemble the familiar IRL scenario that I described. The weapon in fact almost completely distracted me from the character the first few times. If you'd told me it was an alien species or a droid holding the rifle after the first time I saw it, I probably would have believed you.

I think it looks pretty cool, I'm game for it.

Regarding the weapons- idk, it doesn't bother me. I'd assume that Star Wars hasn't had the same progression of firearms as our world has, so having weapons that appear to be WWII and modern inspired side by side shouldn't be that jarring.

In fact, I kinda like the idea that different factions might use weapons symbolic of their struggles- and Saw's partisans using stuff more reminiscent of modern political conflicts seems like it could be interesting.

HAHA, if you say so, sir! As you so eloquently did... :D Just wondering, because that particular shot bothers many...

I'm not aware of it bothering anyone else. Are they bothered by the AK? If not and they are bothered about something else then that's them and not me.
