    What does the 'C' stand for AT-ACT?
    I have mixed feelings about the U-Wing. I really like how it has the sharp lines from the OT, but it's just a jumbled mess of a X-Wing and Y-Wing put together.
    The TIE Striker is pretty neat though. Reminds me of the TIE Phantom from Rebel Assault II.

    I'd like to know that, too. 'C' could be for combat or carrier, but it looks rather superflous as already the AT-AT in ESB could do both.

    The part between the X-Wings rockets looked rather like a snowspeeder to me (can it detach?).

    I don't like the TIE Striker, I would have rather pre-ferred the skyhopper TIE, i.e. the TIE Phantom:

    IMHO, there is a limit of how often you can really "re-invent the wheel" regarding the basic TIE design.

    The TIE striker looks rather like a TIE "Bat", and the solar fins are too modern for an ANH prequel design (which of course also applies to the TIE Phantom, but the Skyhopper / Tydirium solar fin arrangement carries stronger Star Wars allusions for me than what we got with the TIE Striker).

    Understandable, but here is what I like about it, it resembeles so much and everybody sees something different. I see a snowspeeder canopy and resemblance to the split Star destroyer design from TFA art book (page 51 or something) and sure there are X-wing, A-wing and Y wing similarities. That thing is really interesting.

    All-Terrain Attack-Carrier-Transport? Attack-Combat-Transport? Hmm... Nah, that is too superfluous.

    I'm not sure if it can detach, if it does... I don't know what my reaction would be. Seems too much like a toy! Haha. Yeah, it looks like a mix between the snow speeder and the Y-Wing. It's... different.

    I would have preferred the Phantom as well. I'm not upset with the Striker, it looks neat, but there are plenty of designs that could have become canonized. I'm not crazy about it either. Just meh. I think overall it's okay they designed a new TIE, because in the total of what, five years the OT takes up, we see several different variations. It makes sense to me that the Empire would make new designs fairly frequently to test technology and to terrify the systems into subjugation (and keep them under subjugation) because the Empire has such a vast fleet and wide variety of ships.
    Also.. toys. :p

    Yeah, you're right. It is neat how there is something different for everyone, but I also think that's one of the main detractors from it. It's not it's own ship. Like the TIE Striker, I'm not unhappy with it, nor am I overwhelmed. I think it will take some time for them to grow on me.

    -"Cassian Andor" may be one of the most "SW-ey" sounding names that I've heard in awhile.

    -"Director Krennic" sounds like a cool name for a SW villain. I wonder what his position/title "Military Director" entails within the Imperial hierarchy?

    I really like the evolution of the technology, from the clone trooper masks to storm trooper to the Episode 7 sleek design. Also, in the ship designs how you can notice a slight evolution from the PT to the OT, and these designs seem to fit perfectly into the cracks.

    We had so much nostalgia in TFA (familiar planets, familiar ships, familiar weapons.) **Great movie, don't get me wrong. But I was hoping for more new stuff**

    I'm REALLY looking forward to all these new places, vehicles and weapons! Seeing the war from the unsung heroes perspective, instead of from the all-powerful Jedi/Sith perspective. Seeing the war from the eyes of people who think Jedi and Sith were legends. I love it.

    Tropical planets. Yes!
