I'll give the book a fair chance, reading it thoroughly and not just glance through- scanning for clues... i am already spoilered - when it comes to my favourite character ( totally worth it! haha) , so it should not be a problem.

ok so, armitage hux totally is a thing – but he doesn’t theoretically have to be the hux we know.

I'm all for the idea of hux being a scrawny bastard child, raised brutally by his father in hopes that hux sr. will have something to be proud of. i’m enjoying seeing all the headcanons about him and his journey into adulthood with this name he hates.

but i also really like the idea that armitage hux is the hux we know’s bastard half-brother. hux is the presumptive heir to hux sr.’s legacy, the legitimate son. but raising hux is without effort – he is already driven and cunning, so hux sr. puts all of his time and effort into raising armitage, shaping him into a perfect legacy. and hux? god, hux would hate that. loathe it and seethe over it, plotting his options with resentment in his veins.

 

Will Armitage be a popular name for SW fan's kids, pets etc.?

Next Duck or Chicken or Goldfish I get is going to be named General Armitage Hux.

Something to be proud of? I think you are under exaggerating here... It is the legacy of the Empire were talking about. Besides Brendol Hux was a firm believer in natural selection and and advocated weeding out/ killing off weak individuals (Source Wookieepedia) . In other words- you get tough or die.

 

I named my baby (cat) Kira after the production name of Rey. I can't judge.

 

I named my two adopted kitten Reyla & Finney, here they are.

 

They're cute. Way to go!!!

@JeffG., @PrincessLeiaCB3 : hate to disappoint you (i disappoint myself), but i didn't buy it. tempted, though i was--desperately.

but i'm getting it digitally tomorrow and i've been making a concerted effort not to buy any physical books this year on account of the obscene menagerie of paper i current have curated thus far in my life. it is truly obscene.

so i gotta wait with the rest of you plebes ~ hahaha

 

Whoa Whoa Whoa!!!!!!! Calm down!!! There is just something about the physical copy that can't be replaced. The feeling of the pages and the sound of said paper being turned or dogeared. The taste of the paper when you lick your finger to turn the page. This cannot be imitated. I think I have gone too far.
