The Rise of Skywalker is expected to be heavily featured at tomorrow's Disney Studios panel (10am PST), but some footage was already shown today. The footage is likely the same clip shown to shareholders a few months back that was described in detail on Twitter (here). The clip has made its way online, so we have posted it below and another attendee at D23 was able to take some screen captures of the footage and share them on Twitter. Let's take a look!

    (via Reddit)

Twitter user OneCap8 grabbed screenshots of the clip:

In the first image we have our 'Big Three' heroes Finn, Rey, and Poe, accompanied by Chewbacca and C-3PO (WHERE IS ARTOO?!) on what we believe to be the new planet Pasana. The second image has the group in the Falcon cockpit, followed by shots of Kylo Ren in a white room looking down at Darth Vader's mask in some sort of compartment, and lastly, one more shot of Finn rocking his new vest.

We expect tomorrow's Disney Studios panel to feature a behind-the-scenes reel of the movie, showing more of a 'making of' journey with interviews with Abrams and members of the cast. We will keep you posted as soon as any other footage or information is revealed out of D23, which we expect will start kicking The Rise of Skywalker marketing into gear, which has been quiet to this point.

I just "love" how everyone is staring and doing nothing again. Very helpful, very exciting. Let's thank Lucasfilm for letting us know that these people's eyeballs still work in ROS.

They're doing nothing because they are stills. They're staring because they're stills. That's what happens when it's a pic. They do nothing.

Did you know that it's possible to capture movement in pictures? Weird, I know, but it's true! There are pictures out there of people talking, running, doing a thousand different things! Don't believe me? Google it and see! There are even pictures of animals in movement! And objects too, how amazing is THAT? It's like sorcery!

I just don’t get some of the sentiment on these forums and in the fandom. I understand there are some who dislike parts or all of the ST and that is perfectly fine as everyone has different likes and dislikes. However, what I don’t get is if someone really is unpleased with the ST why are they still engaging in it. If you think food sucks at a restaurant do you continuously go back and eat there? I know there are some who maybe don’t like the ST to date but are hopeful that they will like IX so there are still engaged. However rather then coming on and saying this about IX sucks or is stupid, it is more constructive to the overall conversation to discuss what your concerns are about IV.

There are restaurants I used to love that, like the ST, suddenly grow terrible and the food virtually inedible. Sometimes, however, I'll return to see if the food is good again, and if not, I'll mention my concerns with the management.

I'll say, "This is terrible. Give me my money back. Hire a new chef."
And of course there are some people who eat at the restaurant no matter what, and never complain, and it's because of these people the manager doesn't make a change. If we're going to speak of dumb, that's the proper place to enunciate.

The people who go back to the restaurant who don’t complain are the ones who most likely enjoy the food. There is nothing dumb with that. As I have said people have different tastes and enjoy different things. Giving a restaurant a second chance is ok but if the food continues to be inedible it is dumb to keep going back when there are plenty of other restaurants to eat at. Going back just to complain serves no purpose if the restaurant is full of other patrons who enjoy the food.

The problem with this is it assumes that the person who doesn't like the new food is in the right, and the people who do like the new food, maybe even prefer the new food, are in the wrong.

I think a lot of us do and are staying away, or at least not commenting. I'm not very interested in IX, but I hope that it beats the odds and makes the trilogy watchable (for me).

For those who are coming here and dissing on the stills, I don't really get it either. My guess is that they're hurt and lashing out. The only reason I say this is because in retrospect, that's somewhat how I felt after viewing TLJ. Now I'm mostly indifferent. I'm still curious, but not at all excited. I read to stay in the loop, but I don't usually take the time to criticize, unless it's in TLJ hate thread, and even there its become rare (I've mostly tuned out).

I think it more sad. Not that they're sad or pathetic or anything, only that it's sad that they can't let go, because they must have been more invested than I, and that means they must have been pretty hard core, so it's doubly sad SW lost them to such an extreme. I fear those would not even like a movie that did redeem the trilogy, they're just that far gone.
