    Hello everyone!

    My name is Christian.

[IMG] is how I saw Star Wars for the first time. And they played Hardware Wars, too.

Star Wars kind of faded for me in the late 80's. But in the early 90's I finally had my own VHS copies of the original trilogy and the documentary "From Star Wars to Jedi: The Making of a Saga." My love and interest quickly re-emerged.

When the mid 90's came around, I found myself devouring every issue of Star Wars Insider Magazine for all the Special Edition and Prequel Trilogy news. And soon afterwards, I was addicted to Star Wars news on the newfangled Internets (TheForce.Net and Supershadow). Oh, and I just had to buy that CD-ROM "Star Wars: Behind the Magic." It had the Luke/Anchorhead/Biggs and friends deleted scenes, and an Episode I sneak preview section (not much of an epI preview but better than nothing).

I enjoyed the prequels. They are not as beloved to me as the original trilogy, but that was a hard act to follow, especially since we already knew where the story was going.

And now I love coming to starwars7news.com, as well as a couple of other sites for my daily dose of Star Wars. This site in particular has been wonderful at keeping on top of everything in a timely manner. Way to go!

Bring on "Star Wars Episode VII: Where the Hell is Luke?"

Hello everyone. Star Wars fan since I was a toddler; ESB was my first theater experience in its orignal release and I've been hooked ever since.

I mostly lurked in the corners of the internet during the prequel era, But with the Sequel trilogy approaching I'm hoping to become more active. I've been reading this (great) site since its inception, but had issues with the commenting tool, so I'm excited to have this foruum to get some good conversations going.

Hey everybody, I'm James. I'm from near Toronto, Ontario.
I first saw the original Star Wars Trilogy with my dad when I was 6 years old and I've been in love with Star Wars ever since.

I have to admit, I'm really no fan of the prequels in the slightest. You won't find me making excuses for them. I'm pretty sure the Plinkett Reviews are my favourite things on the internet. But unlike other prequel haters, I am so very optimistic about these sequels and spin-offs.

I want to share an anecdote with you. I remember seeing The Phantom Menace when I was 8 years old. I guess I liked it. I didn't understand all the taxation and trade routes stuff, but it sure did have some lightsabers so that was ok for me back then. But what I really remember was a guy dressed up as Darth Vader so excited to be there before the movie. Then afterward, walking out to the car, I saw him with his head handing low, dragging his lightsaber behind him walking home in the rain. It was one of the saddest things I ever saw. It perfectly captures that viceral first impression that any long-time fan should have had. I asked my dad, "Dad, why is Darth Vader so sad?" and he said to me, "Son, you'll understand when you're older". And I do.

I'm not one who believes that you have to automatically love everything to do with what you're a fan of to be a real fan. I think being able to criticize aspects of the things that you love but still sticking by it despite those faults can make you just as much of a fan.

Anyway, I visit this site everyday checking for any news I can get on anything new and Star Wars related. I look forward to our interactions.

    Hi all
The shroud of the Dark Side has fallen,
and it is time to stick to one username now that the cantina has been built.
I've been posting irregularly under a variety of names but today when I signed on, out of nostalgia,
I went with my old theforce.net username,
like a phoenix from the ashes.

While Star Wars is my all-time love, a passion that just never seems to fade away, I am also a huge fan of A Song of Ice and Fire (the series of novels by the slowest writer in the galaxy, George R.R. Martin), and write articles about this series at the website Tower of the Hand, re-read the books on my blog Stormsongs, and have published two (soon three) unauthorized books about this series. I did start a similar blog to write about Star Wars but I found I didn't have the time for all of this, so that one's in limbo.

My obsession with Star Wars took a huge nosedive in 1999 with Episode I: The Phantom Menace, but now that J.J. Abrams & co. are producing a seventh episode in the saga, my inner geek/fanboy has woken once again and I am quite excited to see where the saga will be going next.

I will admit that I have no love - at all - for the prequel trilogy, but on the other hand my love for the original trilogy is unconditional. I am very curious about how the sequel trilogy will play out (I suspect they'll fall in the middle - but who knows?). I'll try and abide by the rules here, though, no worries. I have watched The Clone Wars in bits and pieces but the animation style just doesn't do it for me, but I tend to think of the episodes that there are many neat ideas and concepts. Rebels is looking better, but that laser-slingshot is worrying :p

Most important of all, and many Bothans did die to bring you this information, while I'm middle-aged, my mental age is somewhere around twenty-three, and METAL RULES \m/ ^^ \m/

Looking forward to healthy discussions and joining in the excitement of witnessing a new chapter in the Star Wars saga being slowly - excruciatingly so - built before our scrutinizing eyes. When's the next scoop, anyway?

Hey MR. P :) Likewise. The outer rims didn't feel much besieged anymore, but this here cantina looks lively enough.
Have you sent distress beacons and stuff to the clan?

Yes indeed. The appropriate transmissions have been sent, and hopefully we'll see a few more familiar old faces in these parts before too long.

So glad this exists now, greetings everyone My name is Frank and I have been going to this site for awhile now. I went away for a bit because I really don't want to spoil anything major for Episode Vii, but I really liked some of the discussions us fans have had on this site.

I have been a Star Wars fan since I was four years old, unfortunately I was born to late to see the original trilogy when it first came out(I did see the special editions though lol). I am an avid video game and Star Wars action figure collector, My favorite movie of all time is The Empire Strikes Back.

Episode VII is going to be awesome

Here here! I fully agree, and I'd be willing to bet that ESB is the favorite of most fans who actually saw the original trilogy in the theater.

Hey everyone, lifelong Star Wars fan since I saw the original in 1977 as a 5 year old kid. NOTHING, I mean NOTHING has ever surpassed the Original Trilogy for me. I grew up loving the Superman Movies, Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, etc, but Star Wars was always my favorite.

You will notice that I will be scyzophranic in my posts when I talk about Episode 7. Somedays I'll read some spoiler or hear an interview from a cast member and get juiced for another SW movie. Then other days, I think about the PT and wonder if we are headed for another letdown? You will hear me in some posts come up with some great ideas and observations about Episode 7, and then other posts question why they are even making it because it is impossible to equal the magic of the OT.

So essentially, this is my therapy! ;)

    Hi I'm Preston,

Have loved everything star wars since the 80's. I think I must have been given only star wars toys for Birthdays and Xmas until I was about 13.

I then started again in 95 and am looking forward to 2015. I tell my wife it could be worse I could be spending my money on cigarettes or something.

I think there is allot of good in these films and they give many lessons that relate to the real world.

Great to meet you all and I look forward to making some useful contributions, force willing.

I love Star Wars. I can't explain it. Just do. Can spend ages just looking at a still from the movie. Was in denial over prequels. They were great. I just spent to much time pouring over any pic or info I could. Hell I had even read the script for revenge of sith befour it came out. . Every now and again I would type in new Star Wars trilogy. Hoping something would come up. Usually same thing. Was some speculation that Lucas was releasing the sagas in 3D to help fund new trilogy. But this was denied and Lucas said he would not give it to anyone else.. Then one night around 1am I was on my old pals huskys YouTube Chanel and bang!!

Disney buys Lucasfilm! The video was well presented. This can't be a hoax. Onto the bbc website and there it was. New trilogy , spinoffs, the whole shabang. I was ao excited I texted friends with no intrest in Star Wars at 1am

I didn't share peoples concerns over a Disney take over. They have made great films over last decade. But what makes me so confident about the films Is that talented creative people, directors , musicians, authors all have a deep love for Star Wars. And now this generation so influenced by Lucas's creation gets to unleash there dream.
