Hello all. I was previously commenting as obiwantstoknow. I love starwars. I have read and enjoyed much of the EU . I am however glad they are not doing those stories. I do not hate the PT as many do but I will say IMHO the OT is just better. But no ranting about it from me. I just want some new star wars .....

Hello everyone, Jesper from Sweden here. I have been active on this site for a long time, started out posting as anonymus, after that with my email as icevisions & now SKYWATER :) -I can´t possibly describe what Star Wars means to me, but coming to this site every day & now having fun on the forum is a good indication of my love (& possibly obsession) with the star wars universe :D

I grew up with the OT so of course they are closer to my heart, but i like the PT as well & I think that ep.7 could be the best star wars movie yet, which opens up for even greater adventures in ep.8/9 & I hope that the ST will be the trilogy that unites the OT & PT fans :)

I´m a techno dj/producer (that´s why Yoda has earphones) & we love to sample strange sounds from the movies :)

Feel free to contact me & start a conversation about anything star wars (but i know very little about the EU & computergames)

**MÅ KRAFTEN VARA MED ER !!!**
("may the force be with you" in swedish)

PS. any else from scandinavia on this forum?

Hello all. I almost overlooked this thread but I'm glad that I didn't. As you can see I go by Darth Pimp, which is simply a connotation of my views on life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness (I won't open up a can of worms about that here though ). I'm glad to (e)meet you all :).

I've been a SW fan since I was toddler watching the OT with my uncle back in 84 - 85. Even at that age, I felt that it was the most magical and mystifying story every to be put in cinema (and I still feel that way, mostly). As a teenager I would always wonder and hope that 7 - 9 would be made even while Lucas would seemingly adamantly say that they wouldn't be :(. When the PT was announced, I was ecstatic. I know that there has been a longstanding debate about the quality of the story-telling and presentation of those films, but I can honestly say that despite their perceived flaws I thoroughly enjoyed them, though I did expect a few things to be different story-wise (I'm no fan of introducing Anakin as an 8 year old...would've preferred him to have been a teenager already in the Order. I still found TPM to be a fascinating movie, and I genuinely felt like I understood what GL's vision and purpose actually were). Still, this is not the thread to lay out my grievances for the overall PT.

I forgot exactly how I originally stumbled across the site but I know that it was shortly after the official announcement that Ep.s 7 - 9 were to be made. I'm also intrigued about the stand-alone films...never would've seen them coming...it's like the proverbial icing on the cake. Like most of you, I'm primarily here for the scoops and potential spoilers. I was completely spoiled for the PT, and, as such have developed an immunity of sorts to not being engaged in the movies when watching for the first time. In other words, knowing most (or all) of the plot simply won't kill the experience for me haha.

Several other fan sites are great but are also a bit too dense and "clique'ish" for me to spend any significant time on. For me, SW7NEWS.com, in it's present incarnation, satisfies my needs as a SW news junkie, and kudos to the originators and collaborators of it's idea. Expect me to do much more "lurking" (reading) than posting, but as I'm sure is already evidenced, I won't hesitate to chime in from time to time :D.

Hi guys I have been meaning to write something in this thread for awhile now and kept forgetting. Anyway my name when not posting in the Cantina is Collin and I have been a Star Wars fan since I was a kid. My Dad took my brother and I to see all of the special edition releases of the original trilogy and when Phantom Menace came out I was six and I vividly remember it because my little sister was born when it was in theaters and my dad, brother, and me would sneak out of the hospital and leave my mom who just had a baby to see it. I was always a die hard fan but what made me a true fantic was the first time a played the game Knights of the Old Republic and my love of The Wars was taken to a whole new extreme. I love all things Star Wars and like all of you are eagerly awaiting Christmas 2015!

Hello all. Been visiting the starwars7news site for a few months now, loving the updates and pictures. I'm 38 years old and a very big fan of the original trilogy. I have a love/hate relationship with the prequel trilogy, but appreciate it for its stunning visuals and solid entertainment value. And I have a fairly limited knowledge of the EU, read all the Zahn books, and the X-Wing series, but not much beyond that. Very, very excited to see what is done with our beloved series as it is expanded into its future.

Better late than never, I suppose.

Been a fan since the 90s, when I was introduced to the films as a kid. I believe it was a mid-90s lead-up to the 20th anniversary in 1997, but I was definitely in before the Special Edition actually came out. So my first taste was the pure and simple originals, which I still have on VHS. I also have a large framed poster of Vader's mask stating "The Original, One Last Time" that I've had to paint in some places to cover up various "incidents" that have occurred in its lifespan.

The highlight of my experience with Star Wars was when I was able to attend a special exhibit at the National Air & Space Museum in Washington, DC, in which a large portion of the museum was used to display the actual props, concept art, and costumes of the trilogy.

This one in particular, actually: http://airandspace.si.edu/exhibitions/star-wars/online/guide.htm

Much of my childhood was spent endlessly rewatching the movies and drooling over all the cool things for purchase in the Star Wars Insider magazine. Man, I really, really, REALLY wanted that life-size fiberglass stormtrooper...

My preferred "era" of Star Wars is the OT, though I do myself enjoy the PT. Not nearly as much as the OT, but I find the ability to focus on the positive. I've dabbled in the EU, particularly the various series that took place after the Battle of Endor, but always found the EU was far too convoluted -- and in many parts, predictable -- to remain actively interested in. For that matter, I was actually glad when Disney decided it need to be redone, much to the chagrin of many of my fellow forumers I'm sure. ;)

I have been a massive Star Wars fan since catching the bug in 1977 when I was 6. I remember before Empire was even announced the only way I could satisfy the hole (remember kids we had no VHS and it was not on TV) was the odd clip on Disney Time (funnily enough) and re-inacting scenes with my SW Figures.

To be honest I have enjoyed every movie, game, series and a lot of the EU although the later stuff started to read more like Star Trek I my opinion. I just love the SW Universe and would happily wander around a Jedi Temple looking at walls instead of taking a Sith's head off!

My thoughts on the ST are that I hope they don't throw the baby out with the bath water. There needs to be those Star Wars features such as the scene cutting, the opening shot from the opening crawl and even the "I've got a bad feeling about this" line.

But most importantly it has to wrap up the Skywalker story and needs to focus on boxing off their story so Daisy has to be a relative. There will be plenty of opportunity to explore the Underworld in the spin offs but for now we need to see Luke come full circle.

JJ needs to do it right. I love Trek too and I liked what he did with that after The Next Gen movies spoilt it but please do not **** this one up JJ, the force is strong with this one...

As a footnote I met George Lucas in New York when he was attending the premier of King Kong and we were staying in the same hotel. All I could say was "Thank You" but I am glad I did because we all would not be here if it wasn't for him.

I just remembered I still have the four tickets we used tucked away in a special box. I sometimes see them when clearing other things out and get those fond memories again. :D

I completely agree with that. Though not chronologically in order, one could say Anakin's story kicked off the series, and Luke's story should finalize it in some form. I've seen some random speculation about a trilogy after this trilogy (X, XI, XII) but I really, REALLY don't want to see that, unless it's meant to be a new series focusing on a non-Skywalker family.

I'm Stillwatch I am a long time die hard Star Wars fan. I was on theforce.net forums for the lead up to the PT and I was looking for a new fun home for internet bitching about star wars. I am a Psych. student and I work a ton so Star Wars stuff is a fun way for me to kick back on my rare down moments.

Biggest things I'm looking forward too? Concept art leaks, the eventual trailer release, and learning the real names and connections of the characters.

Hello to the group. I'm John Caliber, who when not writing Judge Dredd roleplaying books and creative graphic novels, creates Star Wars photostories (under the Star Wars Toyscapes banner) using Hasbro's action figures; in 2015, I will be pushing the storylines further into the post-Return of the Jedi era, and find this site's rumours (authentic or not) to provide fun plot-lines to riff off. Look for my work on the From 4-LOM to Zuckuss and Imperial Shipyards web-sites, as well as story annotations on my Facebook Star Wars Toyscapes group.

I've been a Star Wars fan since 1977, and find pleasure in all six movies - I don't subscribe to any of the OT or PT tribes. My favourite Star Wars saga is The Clone Wars, above all the live-action films. I think it merges the aesthetics of both trilogies and takes the saga into exciting and fresh directions.

Starwars7News.com has become my favourite news-site, as much for the scoops as for the 'sidebar' essays which always prove entertaining and interesting, and the quality of moderation. I hope the standard will continue to be maintained.

    Best wishes to everybody!

Thanks, Tom. Regarding my broken avatar link (I connected my FB account to this board), how do I upload an avatar independent of the FB connection? Not seen any options in my account for this board? Thanks to anybody who can assist.

Click on your name/avatar at the top of the screen. Then click where your avatar should be, it will take you to your page. Then click on where your avatar is on the left of the screen to bring up a field to upload a new avatar or use Gravatar to use the same avatar as your e-mail address, never used that way so I'm not sure how it works. Once you upload a new avatar it should work properly.

I'm Joe, 29 from NH. Been SW-obsessed for around a decade. I like all 6 and tCW series, but especially love the OT. I'm really just now jumping onto the SW fan sites to see what the skinny is on EpVII, and I'm liking (most of) what I'm hearing so far! I'll be doing way more observing in The Cantina than posting, but I'll chime in when comfortable ;)

I work a desk job, so I'll be frequenting this site and others when no one's peering over my shoulder. My wife is also into SW, and we're thinking about the best time to introduce our boys to this wonderful universe (definitely starting with the OT). They are 7, 2, and there's a girl on the way in February. The 7-year-old is kind of a scaredy cat when it comes to live-action movies, so we'll probably give it a few years.

    Welcome Joe!
Thanks for joining us in the Cantina. Looking forward to your input!
As for your kids, I got started at 7 when the OT was re-released in theaters back in 1997 and was stuck since.
I'm sure your 7-year-old will love it when he sees it for the first time!
