Hello! I'm Jordan and I live in the UK. I'm not normally one to get involved in forums, but after a bit of lurking it seems like such a great community to be part of!

I was raised on the OT, but the PT started off whilst I was just young enough to see past its flaws. To this day I can appreciate the PT for its great moments in amongst the less-than-great. Big fan of the EU, but I always felt a bit lost on where to categorically start, so my experience of it was very thinned. As such, the reset has given me a great chance to keep up as the new continuity grows!

I eagerly anticipate TFA and have every faith in JJ!

45 years old. Bitter. Very, very bitter. Lives in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA, Earth. Star Wars fan since Star Wars was called only "Star Wars" (before all the sub-name stuff) at age 7. Recently opened a not-so-serious site called dudebrohomie.com which covers the coverage of Star Wars in a lighthearted way. The heart. It's light man. I cover it in a lighthearted way. Dude it's lighthearted! Let it go!

I just wanted to say hello and a few things. This place reminds me of the pre-TPM theforce.net with your news and forums. That's the biggest reason I signed up. I have been a Star Wars fan since I saw ANH with my grandpa during its initial theater release. I passed it on to my son when he was about that age with TPM. Later in life it's not an exaggeration to say Star Wars saved my life. Watching The Star Wars dvd's my family sent me while in the Army and deployed on my little player helped me immensely in holding on to my sanity during some really hard times. It is awesome to see quite a few with military ties on here signing up for the boards too. Thanks and I hope to add to the discussion.

I was 10 when I first saw Star Wars in 1977. My daughter was 10 when I took her to see Phantom Menace. Julie had never been to a movie theater before, and Julie's mom had this weird thing about loud noise, so the movies Julie had seen on our VCR were always played with the volume way down low. So here my daughter and I are in the theater, and I'm biting back the urge to say "The circle is now complete" or some other idiot thing that would make her roll her eyes at me. The opening credits finish and the Jedi's ship flies by. Loudly. The whole theater shakes.

And beside me I hear a little voice say "Wow..."

Welcome to the forum, and thank you for your service.

Hello everyone! My name is Ty, and I'm 23. The first Star Wars movie I saw in theaters was AOTC with my dad. He had the OT on VHS and I remember watching them all the time. I enjoy all of the movies, and the EU/Legends Books, too. I enjoy the PT for the visual effects and action, while I like the OT for the storytelling and characters. I have been on the edge of my seat regarding Episode VII since it was announced over 2 years ago. Everyday I go to the blog hoping for any tidbits of info! So, here's to the next few years, and all the new adventures that we will go on together!

Hi guys, I joined a little while ago but decided to stop waiting out back and go inside. The Cantina is such a great community, and I'm glad they do serve my kind here.
I, like most of you, was introduced to Star Wars as a little kid and it has been my obsession ever since. I love this place because the anticipation for the upcoming films is such a great fan experience that I was too young to experience before. So everyone, keep being awesome, and May the Force be with You!

Your avatar: ................................dude....I almost hit on you.

    My bad.

I'm guessing when the wife returns from overseas, you'll be missing from the boards for a while.

You know what I mean? You know? YOU know what I mean!!

All kidding aside. 8 years in the Air Force here, so I was almost in the military. Worked in the hospital system so I was almost in the Air Force.

Good times and God bless your wife's service!

You know how to tell the difference between an Airman and a Marine?

Tell each of them to secure a building.

The Marine will kick down the door, toss in a couple flash-bangs, scream "Semper Fi" and charge in while firing his automatic.

The Airman will get a two year lease with an option to buy.

    Guilty. Like....so guilty.

My contribution to the first Gulf War was keeping the local pizza and beer joint in business and setting up wheelchair races in the lobby on graveyard shift.

I shift you not...that was my contribution.

Hello. Sorry I didn't drop by and introduce myself before splattering the boards with enthusiasm and wild speculation, but here I am: better late, I guess. Life-long SW fan, since seeing the original in '78 as a 7-year old. Still have my vintage figures; still drool at the thought of the Palitoy logo! Was video-game designer for 16+ years (7.5 years at Sony developing for PS mainly). Now work in care sector and run my own concern making Muppet-esque puppets and dumb movies for YouTube.

If you're so inclined, please give my puppet studio a 'like' on Facebook. Would be much appreciated.

Really enjoying chatting with you guys about the new movie! Some really impressive ideas and knowledge around here. ;)

I had quite the stash of Star Wars toys and such and gave them all to my kids when they were really young. I took them to see the Special Editions and they were hooked. My wife-at-the-tme (aka: ex-wife, aka: miserable shriek) warned me by saying they could be valuable in time, but to me the real value was seeing them enjoy things that enhanced my childhood so often.

It was an interesting study in watching how they played with them and what storylines they came up with vs. what my brother and I did when we were kids!

Just like my brother and I did, they would somehow always have the Falcon landing on a water planet. This was before Kamino and water planets were a thing mind you. What is it with the water planet / Falcon crash anyways??

Hello, I am Fiddlestyx. Nice to be here. My obsession with Star Wars started when I was 5 and I saw The Ewok Adventure. Yes, that was my first introduction to Star Wars. I got my first action figure around the same time, Teebo. I still have all my figures from when I was a kid and a lot of new ones too (been collecting most of my life). I joined this forum because it seems to be a nice place to discuss the new movies, and it's called The Cantina!

Now, who do I see about a glass of Blue Milk?
