New ship designs for Episode VIII?

Thats because they used x-wing and ties models. But I missed the others classic ships too.
Kylo's ship its beautiful.

 

They really need to give us new ship designs in EP VIII.

Ships in TFA where not that great in my opinion ( Kylo Ren ship was kinda cool ). I want new designs.

 

I really wanted to get a closer look at the Republic Fleet in the Hosnian system....
You can only just make out a number of larger ships in orbit during the destruction.

 

Yeah I have no doubt there will be a lot of new fighters and ships for the the next two films. I anticipate more of a civil war now, rather than a rebellion against an empire, and that means whatever is left of the Republic ships will be joining in with the Resistance. Can't imagine every single one was in that system during the attack.

I was pretty disappointed that we didn't get to see some new Mon Calamari cruiser designs. Hopefully they're not all destoryed.

Was the entire Republic fleet in the Hosnian system, or just most of it?
Was that the entire Resistance fleet at Starkiller, or just what they had stationed on D'Qar?
It's a bit like the Rebelion in ANH... I think it's fairly clear, though never stated in the film, that the entire Rebel Alliance was NOT on Yavin IV.
I wouldn't jump to conclusions quite yet.

At least the Resistance had more surviving pilots from Starkiller (7), than the Rebellion had after the Death Star (3 out of 30).

I loved the new X-Wings and the special forces TIE

 

I was disappointed that there was only one huge military ship in TFA. And when they told that a small bunch of X-wings was "a half of resistance fleet" I was WTH? I really hope there'll be at least one huge space battle with destroyers/cruisers etc in ep VIII or IX.

 

TFA concept art showed the TIEs with triangular "wings" that I thought looked awesome and I wish they would have gone with that rather than a paint job on the old TIEs. The artists also drew out some J-Wings, K-Wings, etc that could be used in Episode 8.

 

I imagined in the TFA the reason they used X-wings was because of how under-funded the resistance was so they pretty much just used the leftover ships from the rebellion. Given that The First Order have just destroyed the Republic capitol you'd imagine the Resistance and Republic will merge and we'll see a few newer models.

The Tie's looked new even if they were the same rough shape. I still enjoy the dogfights between those two ships but I'd like just a few more designes to compliment them in the next one

 

Where the hell was that big Star Destroyer during the assault on that Starkiller base anyway?

 

My dear boy its called the Death Star effect you just launch a bunch of fighters and hope that works thats why the Resistance shall crush the First Order!

i would love to see in Episode 8 that the Resistance have been gave ships by the Republic's remaning fleet and Lando is one of the commanders

Not sure, although to me it looked like they raised the shields back up to trap the X-wings in the upper atmosphere. Can't remember for sure how high up they went. Anyway, that would've cut off any support coming from star destroyers.

I don't know about the Resistance, it seems like they were trying make it really small. Can't imagine every single Republic ship was destroyed though.

I'm guessing the remnant fleet will join up with the Resistance and form something that can go head to head with FO. Doubt they have anything as powerful as the Resurgent class SD though.
