This could be the gritty and dark version of "Resistance". I like it. IMO R1 should have been a TV series from the get go and now we're getting something like this! That's great.

I would love to see Gareth Edwards back directing the old crew :) (Or in any role, really).

Oh, this makes me so excited! :D More 70s-look SW please!

Speculating out loud, we could easily see K2, Mon Mothma & Cpt. Antilles & all R1 Rebel leaders and operators, Vader, Saw & Co, Boba Fett, Ahsoka (voiced/acted by Ashley Echstein?), Kenobi?, Solo & all S:aSWs characters, îmwe & Baze & Rook etc., Maul, Palpatine, Bail Organa, (probably not CGI-Tarkin & CGI-Leia?), R2-D2 & C3P0, Krennic, the Rebels crew?, Blue & Red & Gold (+?) squadrons, Biggs’ backstory?, and more in this new show. There’s a LOT of rich stuff to mine in this period, all of which could tie in nicely to other shows and films, riding on each-others’ backs.

Yep, I can feel myself getting pretty stoked already :D

    Also, Diego Luna <3 :D

Wow, I did not see this coming. I’m interested in seeing more Rogue One-esque stories. I just feel like they shouldn’t have made that Cassian and K2SO comic now, because that would’ve been great to see in live-action. (Though I don’t think too many people read this one and from what I remember, it wasn’t all that amazing). Oh well. This just gives me another reason to sign-up for this Disney streaming service!

Especially since he doesn't seem to be busy (seriously, though, what is going on with Gareth's career? It's been two years since Rogue One and he's not attached to ANYTHING.).

I don't know. He seems on good terms with the Mouse. Maybe he's working on something.
I really liked Monsters. I thought his attempt at Godzilla was the best attempt at making it a serious film that we may ever see.
He's a talented guy. I hope he's not in the Trankzone

Me too. It is quite strange that he has no projects, especially when Josh Trank is doing a movie with pretty amazing cast (Tom Hardy and Kyle MacLachlan to name a few.) Maybe now he has slowed down and lives in Vietnam, like the director of Kong: Skull Island? ;)

I thought the EXACT same thing!

Oh that'd be great! I'm a little torn on K2, since I'm not sure the CGI would be up to "movie standard." I think this could take place maybe from when Cassian joins the Rebels proper to when he meets K2?

Overall, I'm really excited for this news and excited for more "mature" Star Wars next year (I enjoy Resistance, but I want a little more than that).

"No one's ever really gone" - Luke Skywalker.

"A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one." - Senator Palpatine.

I'm so happy about this news. Diego Luna's character was great and it was unfortunate that he was killed in his first appearance. (although it wasn't really unexpected).

As others mentioned earlier, there is so much potential for cameos, heroes and villains from TCW and Rebels. Cross-overs with Solo, Max Kanata, etc. Looking forward to more Star Wars.

I like that guy too! lol
I like directors that find ways to work their own visions into big budget films.

It does seem like the shows on the streaming network will be more adult oriented.

Don't know why, but I have this feeling that Gareth simply slowed down after Rogue One, which probably made him a bit of cash. I bet he's been enjoying life on a beach somewhere, getting to his reading pile or possibly his video game pile :) But yeah, we need him to come back to Star Wars!

Man I'm stoked for this. LOVE Rogue One and didn't think we'd see anything live action revolving around the characters again. So excited for this.

Honestly this in my opinion was a fantastic play by Lucasfilm.

Of all the new movies Rogue One seems to be the most universally beloved by the different sections of star wars fans. That and also all of the connective tissue this series could provide with it's place chronologically makes it so interesting. (PT-CLONE WARS-SOLO-R1-REBELS could all have their tendrils connect in this series)

I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, I am glad to see another live action series and one that sounds like it will have a more mature focus. Also, a spy thriller sounds cool. They can do some really cool stuff with this.

On the other hand, Rogue One was not my favorite SW movie, and in particular I found Cassian to be quite annoying. Also, where are my Jedi and Sith? Where is the mystical power of the force? Certainly not in a movie / series that hardly ever shows an actual force user.

Mixed bag. I am much more excited for The Mandalorian.

HURRAY. I loved Diego Luna as Cassian. Here for it. Wouldn't it be fun if Jabba shows up and he gets to touch him?

Sounds good & yes we need K2 & the fact that ILM have just set up a TV / Streaming Service department means that hopefully we will get him & done at almost movie level quality as they don’t see me to be skimping on the budget for these shows.
