I’m quite sure it’s Chewie, but if that’s Lando at the helm, I can’t say. It’s more a feeling of having glimpsed some yellow cloth when the falcon neared in this shot.

You’re correct, it’s her in the white garments with the exposed arms.

This ship may be a Lancer class pursuit ship, much like the Shadow Caster which was Ketsu Onyo's ship in Star Wars Rebels:

Looks like 3P0 in the co-pilot seat on the left (as we are looking at it).

Aw damn it... this is like that 'is the dress blue or gold' thing from a year or two ago - I can see Chewie, but looking at it slightly differently I can also see how it looks like 3PO and now my brain is just porridge

I've heard some people claim they can see the Colossus in that shot of the fleet in the new trailer. Has anyone pinpointed that?

Since the trailer dropped, I have wondered in which context those fleets as seen here operate. We see resistance fighters, 1st Order TIE Dagger and the classic Imperial Star Destroyer, most probably hidden under ice for a long period.

The Question is now, do the awoken forces of the old Empire now work together with the 1st Order, or do they stand in opposition, as both sides want to rule the galaxy on their ow, as see the other “evil” force as competition?

I tried to wrap my head around, were on an Imperial Star Destroyer’s hull does these two shots take place?

    1stO_Destroyer_01.jpg

    1stO_Destroyer_02.jpg

I looked back and for on all the source material, but neither those small dual gun turrets, nor those building structures, showed up anywhere on any surface of an ISD. Everything that those riders pass, it’s not there.

    1stO_Destroyer_04.jpg

    1stO_Destroyer_03.jpg

But then the bridge and especially its top structures gave it away: Those riders are on top of a Resurgent-class Star Destroyer of the First Order. Especially that deflector shield dome and the big sensor antenna are very revealing.

    1stO_Destroyer_05.jpg

    1stO_Destroyer_06.jpg

    1stO_Destroyer_07.jpg

    Same for this central element.

    1stO_Destroyer_08.jpg

And those antennas (?) protruding from the sides.

    1stO_Destroyer_09.jpg

So why are the Resistance forces charging this FO ship, and how does this FO ship relates to all the classic ISD’s around it? Are those manned with crew still loyal to Palpatine? Are those FO guns firing at resistance star fighters, or even the old Imperial forces? Will we see a three sided battle?!?

Have you noticed @Lazarus Dei that all classic Imperial Star Destroyer are aligned in one straight flight direction, while this FO battlecruiser is aligned at a right angle to them? What does this mean, does it not belong to their battle line?

Could this be the Flagship of Allegiant General Pryde that our heroes are onto, or just a random one?
    admiral rpyde.jpg

And that X-Wing, just passing moments before, followed by that beloved B-Wing, is it Wedge Antilles making his fulminant return?

You're definitely on to something... I'd briefly wondered about a 3-way battle, to the point of wondering whether the shot of Ren and Rey seemingly destroying the Vader effigy is a hint that the FO forces may join the Resistance and turn against those of the Sith once ol' Palpatine's galaxy meddling plans are revealed?

Look at the age of Allegiant General Pryde, I assume he was a Imperial Navy officer 30 years ago. What if his old boss, the Emperor of the Sith Empire, shows up once again, where would his loyalties lie, with this new whiny Supreme leader, or would he bend the knee again to his old master?
    (star destroyer)

Edit: And I don’t think that Kylo will hand over the First Oder, his base of power, happily and in an blink of an eye to any resurrected old Sith-Monster and his Imperial Forces.
