Wow – that fella on the lower left is exactly our guy on the heavy bike from that chase! Everything except the Helmet says “Biker Scout” from Endor to me. Interesting, because earlier versions of that scouyt helmet date back to the battle of Kashyyyk.

Actually I’m about 100% sure now that the Range trooper refers to a different type. This one is for biking and patrols (?) on Corellia, the Range Trooper will show up in the mountain environment and really looks like Spec Force like the mountain infantry / Gebiergsjäger.

These two troopers are quite different I think.

Hm, having elements of the clone trooper armor designs showing up would make sense. If I’m not totally off target, the story takes place over a period of 6 years, from around 5 years after RotS until 8 years before ANH. So 5 years after the End of the clone wars, when Han is 18 years old, there should be quite some stuff still around and armor evolving from that.

I’ve thought some more about that bike and while it looks so different from the ones we all know from the clone wars that e.g. the ARC troopers ride, and the later ones used on Endor. No protruding, flimsy and vulnerable steering fins in the front… just a solid block with armor (and a strong engine?). Maybe this one is better suited for the job in urban environments?!

I would say it has the same utility purpose as Rey's speeder. Her model was made for towing heavy freights, like an old tractor.

Ah, so it would not be a military vehicle, but a ‘draft animal’. That could explain the absence of any recognizable blaster on this one. Good point!

But it still seems to ride very fast…

… but then again, Lego might be a bit exaggerating. This version looks quite militaristic though.

That driver might be an intermediate version between the clone scouts and the later imperial combat assault tank pilot. Look at the boots, they’re almost the same. As well as the unarmored parts. The armor pieces on the arms look lighter, but cover at least the same parts/areas.

As you mention Dash Star – might it be that we possibly get to see a bunch of tramp freighters of different kind, like the some YT-2400 “outrider’ and other models more exotic models?

I would love to see real star wars shadow port (like in that RPG book from FFG with that train in it, it’s Ord Mantel if I’m correct), bustling with gangsters, smugglers, brigands and pirates together with their colorfull ships.

I’m waiting for this since the 80’s, before the dark times, before the Empire. Actually, since I got my version of the West End Games sourcebook of ‘Tramp Freighter’:

The new TIE is probably a TIE bomber variation due to both of them having another round thingy thing on their right side. Or it could be a TIE that has the armament to take on a frigate like the consular class, CR90, or the Arquitens class.

    Yep.
Gettin' me to thinkin' it's 'heavy assault'.
Did ya notice that the solar panels don't have the 6 sections.
Got more of a single section separator goin' from rear upper left to front lower right.

In the trailer this thing is taking the lead of the TIE squad that is pursuing the Falcon, and it is shooting one barrage after another at that damn freighter. It has double cannons with a separate gunners cockpit in the center – so I assume @Bloo Leeder ‘s second guess to hit home.

Will it have shield and rockets too?

    It looks great!

I love Shadows of the Empire and there are definitely hints of it in this trailer.

I'm pretty sure it will have rockets, but no shields.

It looks like this bad boy. Remember this concept art for TFA?
    upload_2018-2-7_10-26-53.jpeg

But, going back, the TIE bomber from TESB.

Looks like they borrowed from this to give us an early TIE gunship model for Solo.

I just noticed that the 4 armed alien might be an imperial pilot.

Good eye! Now that you mention it, the guy in the background look like an Imperial officer.
At first, I assumed he was a gunner on the Falcon.

Very good catch you two! 100% the same ship and I would say that guy in the background is wearing an imperial officer uniform to 95%. I’m not sure about the belt knuckle – is that standard imperial issue or the gun holster from Solo or Becket? We know from the Lego leaks that those guys also come in imperial guises some times.

    impCrew.jpg

That’s a valid point! I’ve to go back to that concept art book in the evening to look if I could find more stuff in that they could have been re-using.

So now we got Mimbam Mud Troopers – looks like regular dirt skidding grunts.
    mimbanMudtroopers.jpg

Or two guys that guise as those to perform a heist, like Solo & Becket.
    LegoSoloBecket.jpg

This might even be an officers jacket with rank insignias that Becket is sporting here.
    becketJacket.jpg

... which leads me back again to that officer in the background behind that 4-armed pilot alien sporting a gun holster?!

Chances that this is the front section of the Falcon that detaches?

Very good find! They look like serious business although the fur code on an imperial looks a bit strange to me. AT least the classic Snow troopers have a heater unit in their backpacks. I'm quite sure we will meet those troopers on the same planet as the train, the new ship (see below), with all those mountains and snow.

I think it's very unlikely. It’s a separate ship that can carry cargo container as those from the train, it has a complete walkway for persons on the belly and engines on its own – much much bigger then the bow section of the Falcon. Look here:

All you shared, guys, ships (new "prebomber" TIE, cruisers), droids (L3-37, the yellow ones), vehicles (landspeeders, bikes), troops (that biker/trooper mix)... everything looks so freaking cool!!!
This "retro" look in all of it is killing me.
Mother of all ships, can't wait!

Don't remember seing this photo . I think exactly the same! It seems can match with the front of MF.

Really cool catch on that form and the imperial behind. Didn't notice that! Thanks!!

Thinking about the new troopers and that Solo takes place about 8+ years after the End of RotS, how many clones troopers are still in service (and under that armor). What do you guys think? (stormy 2)
