    We're a few months out from the final installment in the Skywalker saga, and since we're currently in one of the last "dead" periods before the marketing and hype hits a fever pitch I'm taking to books, comics and any other canon material to get my fix in. And I want suggestions.

    What's on your essential read and watch list going into The Rise of Skywalker ?

    As valid as the response of "everything" might be, ain't nobody got time (or money!) for that.
    So.

    Make a combination of 9 canon items without exceeding 3 from each of the following categories:

    Movies (3 max)
    Animated Series (3 individual seasons max)
    Books (3 max)
    Comics (3 max)

    I'll go first, with the order I'm watching / reading:

    1. Revenge of the Sith (novelization)
    2. Rebels Season 2
    3. Rebels Season 4
    4. Darth Vader comic (unsure - what's the best?)
    5. Return of the Jedi
    6. Aftermath: Empire's End
    7. The Force Awakens
    8. Resistance Season 1
    9. The Last Jedi

    (This can be part wish-list too as it is for me, as I have yet to see Rebels, have never read a comic, and have only partially read Empire's End)

    I'm pretty much going to do the same. I still remember all the major details from the PT and OT (from seeing them so many times), so i'm sure i'll be able to pick up plot points or any nods that EP 9 will have to those movies. Only SW content I care about are the cartoons, tv, movies and video games. Books and comics, i personally didn't care for (even with the old EU), I generally just read the cliff notes version of the books and comics or read the spoiler reviews that are posted.

    I'm doing a 10 day movie challenge (starting December 10th)! In chronological order, a Star Wars movie a day leading up to the 20th. What? Don't judge me.

    I would probably just watch the movies because IMO that's the only thing you need. The ST pretty muched showed me that the EU don't have much influence on the movies. The juicy stuff is all kept for the big screen.

    So, SW marathon it is for me.

    Yes, and I'm just watching them for the fun and to get me hyped, I know them inside out so there's no need to see episode 1-9 like I would have to see to those to get a better understanding of what is happening in tros.

    I mean I rarely go a week with out watching a star wars film so classing it as rewatch seems a bit daft. But I will watch all the films in the build up, even Last Jedi! Still hoping my opinion changes on it.

    I'm also reading quite a few cannon novels at the moment, just finished Master and Apprentice and Jedi Lost. Havn't read Catalyst so thats next on my list.

    Also re-watching Clone wars ahead of new season.
