Nope is a black version of an Alfred Hitchcock film or a Stanley Kubrick film. I don't think everyone will like it, it is a very divisive film. The couple next to me fell asleep... HAHA, but there are some really riveting parts, that will make you scream NOPE!!!

There is a thread in the movie that you must see, it has nothing to do with film at large( in a way it does you'll see what I'm talking about, but if someone told me about it, it would ruin the film for me), for me, it was a slap to the face to white people and racism, a white woman in my audience was screaming NO, No, No, like omg I can't believe what I'm seeing... ( i can't wait to discuss that thread with you) but thats it...

I think that story line will become a popular meme... I can only say to you, if you want to support Jorden Peele go out and see film, it drags in parts like the film Vertigo, and I love those quiet moments...

The mystery of it all kept me watching, till the very end. So it's up to you, if you think that story thread is enough for you to go out and see it go... so i warned you enough brother... other then that wait to stream it.. I don't know your taste in films, you might like it or hate it, but it definitely needs another viewing for me, I will watch it again, in the comfort of home so to fully understand the mystery at the end... I don't want to ruin it for you and I don't see a spoiler tag on this thread.

After watching Grace's spoiler review I get it!!! I was trying to stay awake at the end it was 1am not that it was a bad film... so now I get!!! So now I get it!!! haha! Film is art and the ending is very artistic in a way... films are subjective... its a slice of cake.

Look at John's face above ^^^ and look at Grace's face ^^^ films are subjective...

    NOPE :D

    Gotcha.
As for the spoiler tag, for some reason there isn't a spoiler tag in the 'film' section.

I went and saw last night. I'll admit by the end I was slightly confused. It was certainly entertaining. The first act was fast then slow then fast. Alot going on. And te fact that the critics were raving about it and then when I watched it it apparently was something different than I what I saw. Also Jordan is quite obviously hitting us over the head with overkill and subtlety what the movie is about. The characters really don't behave like people really would either because they are a mechanism for his message. It's Signs when you really look at it. I was looking for some big reveal which didn't happen. I was wnating to be shocked or blown away, but was not.

I thought every scene was quite stunning. As for the movie itself. I prefer Get Out over this one because to me he's quickly becoming a M. Night Shyamalan where each movie is getting a little worse. Characters were great and he's got it down with that, but plotwise not so much.

A YouTube review stated that the big reveal is that the ship itself is in fact the alien and at the end it changes it's form out of anger; something along those lines. According to your reaction 8s must have been underwhelming?

I'm not really saying I dislike it just, but it's that there is too much going on and not what I'd call not much of a story. It's repetitive. So it's an ok of a movie.

The interesting thing about this Jordan Peele film is that audiences and critics either LOVE IT or HATE IT, there's not much middle-ground.

This is basically Peele dipping into cosmic horror, but I'd love to see him really dive into the genre.
