He was more of a thinker and anakin pretty much did things before thinking.

Force sprint is used many times during The Clone Wars, but you are technically correct if we only count the films.

I always thought it was a let down that we see Obi Wan and Qui Gon force sprinting in the first 15 minutes of TPM, then we never see another force wielder use it for the rest of the PT,OT and film one of the ST. I would very much like to see more force abilities displayed. Especially by Luke! Nothing over the top, or "videogame-ish". Just some cool moves yet to be seen in a saga film! :)

yeah, the EU and canon stuff has helped me enjoy the prequels even more. Originally they seem very disjointed, random and hard to relate to (almost how Harry Potter transferred to film) but if you research further into this time period it really shows that the characters were better than 'fans' gave them credit for and the small details are more appreciated. Like it or not, Anakin was supposed to be 'wooden' and awkward. He was a virgin Jedi that only had one real relationship and Jedi are supposed to be very wooden and composed.. I would have written it more to be Anakin being a complete rebel and sneaking out on rogue missions, etc, but they shot themselves in the foot by only introducing Anakin as a small child in episode 1 and had to continue the whole story along in the next two films..

    Well, some of the video
Well, some video-game moves have made their way into the films and TV shows, but they have always been nerfed or the weaker ones. Force repulse is an example of this. Savage uses it a couple of times, but only under extreme stress and it's nowhere near as powerful as in TFU series.

the majority of the action would be in-character and not something insane (unless that's how the character is) and obi-wan is way more subdued.

I agree that Obi Wan was much more calculated in his actions, whether dueling with his saber or speaking to the Jedi counsel.

I was pretty shocked that he was on the jedi council at such a young age until anakin came along and that proves how respected he was but, at the same time, was it literally only because he killed Maul or was it for hoe great he was
    ?

Good question. Because technically he faced and defeated a Sith before anyone else on the council.Yoda told Luke that he was 900 years old when he died. The Sith had been extinct for a millennium at the time of TPM. So Yodas first fight against a Sith was his battle with Count Dooku. Yoda never killed a Sith. Obi Wan killed Maul and thought he killed Anakin on Mustafar.

Well to be fair he thought he let Shakir die instead of killing him.

One of my favorite parts about Episode 3 is Obi-Wan being an obvious and out spoken influence on the council and the respect he had within it.

In Revenge of Sith, OB1 ask Yoda to go after Darth Sidious rather than Anakin because Anakin is like his brother. Yet Master Yoda says you are not strong enough Ob1.... Anywho, OB1 is not an underrated swordsman in my book. The prequels and the Clone Wars prove this. Even in his elder years, he took out a crazy thug in a seedy tavern swiftly.

He didn't really kill him. In the clone wars which are canon maul returns

Obi wan defeated maul more than once he also deffeated Jango Fett ( Jango had to escape). He also defeated General Grievous and Anakin. So yes he is a powerful swordsman. Sadly people that hate the prequels don't see him that way.

Obi-Wan was a skilled swordsman. But he wasn't the best. And not all of his advice or decisions were wise. He was a first-rate Jedi, but he had his flaws. I have never considered him or any other Jedi to be "ideal".

I don't regard Obi-Wan's defeat of Grievous to be all that impressive. He was very lucky with Anakin, who was in a very emotional state at the time. I was impressed by how he took advantage of both Anakin's lack of emotional control and Maul's cockiness to defeat them. Yet, his own cockiness led to his defeat at Tyranus' hand at least twice . . . especially in "Revenge of the Sith".

While it is true that Obi-Wan fared poorly against Dooku, in both cases he gets sidelined for much of the fight, and also in both cases, Anakin's actions influence the outcome much more than Obi-Wan's. This is why I didn't include it in my "record" - Obi-Wan sort of just gets pushed out of the fight rather than winning or losing.

If you did want to count those as losses, that would mean Obi-Wan has 2 wins and 3 losses - I'm not sure if that's still better than "one draw and one loss."

He was an extremely skilled swordsman, but I don't know if we can say he was underrated. I never got the impression that, apart from the outer rim, he was anything close to anonymous.

Obi wan didn't want to kill anakin, but when it came down to life or death and trying to save the universe from dark force terrany, he had no choice but to use anakins arrogance to defeat him.

I say he lost only one fight with dooku in aotc. He was force thrown out of the next fight and surrendered to become one with the force in anh
