Yeah, not too sure about this one. It was very cool to see Obi-Wan back in proper action but the episode as a whole felt a bit jarring from the start. The pacing seemed rushed. I thought there were a few continuity issues (general continuity, not Star Wars continuity) that took me out of it. Also wasn't big on the Vader/Third Sister interaction at the end, I guess you could say Vader sensed she was telling the truth about the tracker but I found his sudden emotional shift to be... I'm gonna use the word again, jarring.

I feel like I'm nitpicking way more than I was for the first few episodes, I'm still having a great Star Warsy time but as an overall episode of TV I thought it was a bit ehh.

Not bad. Not mind blowing either. It was exactly what I expected from an Inquisitorius rescue mission. Perhaps I'm placing my expectations too high. It could be the constant familiarity but it is cool to see Vader interacting with inquisitors. That element definitely fills the void left by the Knights of Ren, or should I say the Nots of Ren.
Looks like Vader's been practicing speed walking.

A bit fighty, but very well written. The dance of story points, character beats, and plot progression in this one is very strong, and Leia is perfect.

With Kenobi having successfully pulled off some heroics, I bet we'll see a diferent Kenobi from now on, one learning to trust in himself and his duty again. Kenobi finds hope.

I'm wondering if Kenobi will have a talk-to from Qui-Gon Jinn now, before heading out to try and save Anakin, or if Qui-Gon shows up only at the very end, once Kenobi has rediscovered his Jedi ways, to cheer Kenboi onwards? Excitement!

9/10 for me. I find that I like Kenobi better than I thought I would. I mean, I always knew it would be good, but I wasn't sure what meat it actually had to offer, and it turns out that the meat is the characters (which makes sense, of course). Yup, I'm a dumb-dumb.

    Like the others mixed feelings.

Visually is really cool cause the facility is so Empire. I always love to see stormtroopers in corridors full of lights.
I liked the music and the character of Tala.
But certainly there are, as other episodes, absurd details, plus the interactions between Leia and Reva are really bad, without loosness (their acting doesn't help, we can say it here? and the repetitive dialogs we have listened through last episodes).

4 episodes, 2 Leia rescues as a leitmotif. Seems the writers didn't know much what to explain. I wonder why this was not the first and unique rescue and give more time to develop better the other parts of the story. Every interaction we see between Leia and Obi-Wan (now lightsabers, mind tricks...) gives less sense to ANH.

Only 30 minutes of real screentime.

Not sure about those tombs. Can't figure out what will be the real purpose. Not a bad thing. I wonder where this will go and who are they.
Don't like the blue of Obi-Wan saber.
Some decisions regarding Inquisitors seem forced, again.
The final part of the rescue, with Leia "there" and all surrounded but an entire divison. Well, judge for yourself.

They said Beru had more relevance in the second part of the show. Well, I guess she will be in 5 or 6 XD.

Well, we will wait another week.

Another great episode! I got chills when I realized the rescue of Leia was going to be from the Inquisitorous. Very Cool! It was the first time I lamented the fact this was an episode of a TV show and not a feature film.

The actress playing Leia nailed this episode IMHO. What a talented little actress. I also liked seeing a little more nuance in Reva. Moses is showing her own acting chops and I’m liking her villainous ways more and more.

OB is starting to get his Jedi mojo back which I’m guessing is going to lead us to a couple of gangbuster episodes to wrap up the season (I would have said limited series but Disney has indicated that the overwhelming response the show is receiving has led them to announce a second season.)

I’m first and foremost a huge Mandalorian fan but this show is doing it for me while I wait patiently for Season 3. :)

Well, that was a very tense episode. I was certain that Tala was done for. And, she's not in the clear yet. Her imperial ID can't be used any more and the fate of proto-Rebels seems dire now that we know Lola is bugged.

Leia has come close to her New Hope experience with Vader, but luckily Ben arrived before the torture could begin. I am not going to lie, "Is this a staring contest" line made me laugh. I liked Leia from the get go, but I liked seeing this frightened, subdued and still brave Leia even more. Leia holding Ben's hand was very sweet.

I liked that Ben's first thought out of bacta tank was about her, not Vader/Anakin. It shows Obi-Wan slowly coming back to himself. He didn't want it, but he took this responsibility anyway and so he will see it through. He is starting to look into the future instead of the past. And so his skills are coming back too. I really liked the underwater window scene. The Jedi tomb was horrific, especially the dead padawan. It also reminded me Rise of the Old Masters episode of Rebels where Kanan and Ezra were lured with her body. But, just imagine seeing your people exhibited that way.

Vader's one scene was scary enough. The storm troopers running after him because they can't keep up with him, Force choking Reva to immediately after start praising her? Why do I have a feeling that he is playing her the whole time?

This is the magic of this show, I know Ben will live, I know Leia will live, and still the tension gets me every time.

I'll try to write more later, but work might disagree.

One thing I neglected to mention in my Ep.4 review was the character of Tala.

To be honest, I remembered Indira Varma from her appearance in Game of Thrones but I was sort of 'meh, ok' when it was announced she'd be in this series. I saw nothing at all bad with it, but nothing to get too excited about either.

That said, I thought Tala's scenes were the best part of this episode. There were multiple times that I was convinced that she thought she was on a suicide mission. Her poise under pressure showed what a badass she was! I loved the way she BS'ed the security chief; knocked out the officer who called her out; and even tried to pull the wool over the eyes---of an inquisitor for crying out loud. By the time she was caught by Reva, I'd found I had become invested in the character and didn't want to see her die (although, I was convinced she wasn't going to make it.)

In a short period of time Tala has become an interesting rebel fighter that I hope the Powers-that-Be decide to keep around for awhile.

I was glad Tala also went to the Inquisitor Palace or whatever its name is, because if it had just been Obi-Wan, we'd only have had half the tension. ;) Yep, I was tense even though I knew Obi-Wan and Leia would be fine...but I figured Tala was blaster (or Force-choke) fodder...

I laughed at the staring contest line too. That girl is kinda spunky.

I loved this episode. 3 and 4 have been fantastic. A lot happens in this episode considering how short it is and that's a sign of good storytelling. One criticism I'm seeing on the internet these days is that "long episodes are better than shorter episodes" and I have to say that a bizarre way to look at things. It's part of why I really struggled with the new season of Stranger Things. There's so much in that series that is just pure bloat that could have been cut.

This episode did a really good job showing how Obi-Wan's connection to the force is growing. I loved seeing Obi-Wan work with the saber again against the guards. Overall, not much to complain about here.

We’ve had a few bacta-tank scenes since ESB, but I think Luke is the only one who’s had to wear that super special space diaper. So, was that a practical joke by Han? I wonder.

    Somewhat disappointed IMO.

I feel this show is slightly off / missing it’s direct character piece (Obi Wan) and focusing more on an ensemble cast that I do not really care for / need.

I really enjoyed the underwater base, the spy / espionage feel was good. Seeing the tomb of dead Jedi / Rebels really helped drive the darkness of what the empire is capable of. Always a plus to see Vader at the end, it’s great to see the evil he now provides.

Not so sure on Obi Wan and Leia walking through a central hub not being seen for about 10 mins - again, jarring. It looked like a comedy act. :D

I feel the actors are hitting the lines and giving good performances, it looks fantastic but the script is just so 6/10, IMO.

2 eps to go, still wanting it to be better!

I’m not sure if there’s something I’m missing. I feel sad that I can’t jump on the hype. I’m with @Flyboy - the pace feels rushed and jarring.

In fact; I’ve felt a bit like that from the get go. Vader and Obi-Wan’s meeting felt rushed. I adored the dialogue etc but something about it didn’t feel as momentus as it could be. Anyway, I digress. I feel the same for this. Odd pacing. Would argue with continuity but then if it’s a trap laid by Reva it makes more sense.

Needed more Vader. Needed a Clone Wars flashback to explore Obi and Anakin’s relationship. If they don’t do that, I really think they dropped the ball.

    Negative, I am. Apologies

This episode was better than the previous one.

It kinda felt more like SW. The sets and even the music (while still generic) were better.
Obi-Wan sneaking around was neat. Obi-Wan feels like Obi-Wan.

But Obi-Wan was not as much in focus as before. Less Tala stuff and Reva interrogating Leia would have been nice.
Speaking of Reva- the show should finally reveal what's the deal with her.

Last but not least: where is Hayden?!

I hope the last two episodes get more exciting again and a bit longer. This episode was too short and rushed.

    6/10

I agree. While I like parts of the show (especially Ewan's acting as Obi-Wan), it's not exactly what I wished for.

You can't argue with that. That was definitely a highlight of this episode.

That was pretty ridiculous. Same goes for the sudden appearance of the Snow Speeders. Kinda pulled me out.

I don't understand how Reva anticipated and or expected Leia to escape.... seeing as she placed the tracker before getting lied to by Tala.

Like; "this isn't just an Imperial fortress.... its a Jedi tomb with torture chambers surrounded by water and she's 10" don't understand.

Did I miss something? Is my recollection off? I've only watched it once and while at work.

Yep, you missed the homage the episode payed to ANH.

Our heroes escape the Death Star and we learned the baddies allowed them to escape because they'd put a tracker on the Falcon to discover the location of the rebel base. Now fast forward...oops, I mean rewind time to this episode of Obi-wan and we learn Reva allowed them to escape (See? the baddies made it look easy) because she's using Leia's droid to track them back to their rebel base.
