SPECULATION Official Emilia Clarke ( Qi'ra ) Thread

I don't think it will happen but I really like the idea of Qira being Rey's mom. It would make the Han/Rey connection make more sense (it seemed like Han had a sense of who Rey was or some familiarity in TFA). Also, Rey's original name was Kira in the early versions of TFA (the infamous Disney Kira's Landspeeder). I'm amused thinking of Kylo telling Rey that her mother was his father's ex-girlfriend. No wonder he stuck with "nobody".

My husband likes the idea the she might be an "Elsa" (betrayer in Indiana Jones 3) and later turn out to be Phasma.

 

Good idea, but Qi'ra is not Phasma. Phasma was recruited to the FO from a post-apocalyptic world by Hux's father.

 

She's no one.

Her character is a new one that isn't in any other Star Wars film, which probably means she'll be killed off, or die doing something brave and heroic to save other people. A bit like Jyn Urso. Solo and RO are both Anthology films and I predict, like poetry, that they will rhyme.

But she's really just a hook to lure Game Of Throne fans (there are many) to the cinemas to buy tickets and merch.

 

I don't hate that idea. Qi'ra could totally end up depressed and a drunk junk dealer, I could see that.

 

There's a technical problem with that - her age. Around the time of Rey's birth she would have been fifty (plus-minus a couple years,) which is quite for a first. In some cases, it is too late - menopause starts right at that age. Of course, this is all under an assumption that she survives Solo and judging by Lucasfilm's fondness to kill off the unnecessary characters her chances of survival are pretty slim.

Besides, this is also a good opportunity to remind people of this funny video MTV made with Felicity Jones during Rogue One's promotional campaign.

There are a lot of theories going around that she might be the main villain. I think that the villain is the other woman in Han's group. I think Han (and by proxy the audience) will think Qi'ra will betray him and betrays her first. She dies because of this, and when Han learns that she was honest in her friendship/romance/whatever they have, it'll break him.

So, now that the movie's over, I can say that I really like Qi'ra and I really hope to find what became of her eventually. Especially since we know the final fate of the "real" boss already.

 

To be honest, I could really tell how Qi'Ra was going to turn out as though it was a given.

 

If the Sun goes down we'll still have Emilia to shine...

This guess turned out to be not too far off as we found out she picked up some moves from Crimson Dawn. I think she may be force sensitive. Mostly because of the scene where L3 says "I've never seen anyone do that!" after Qi'ra takes out the Pike behind the closed door.

 

Teräs Käsi was originally developed to fight AGAINST force sensitives.

 

Interesting. I didn't know what that was (never owned that video game) and totally missed Qi'ra mentioning it during that scene. All I heard was "Dryden taught me."

 

Darth Maul was declared a MASTER of Teräs Käsi prior to the events of The Phantom Menace.

I believe the Red Armor in Dryden's chamber belongs to Maul's Death Watch/ Shadow Collective.

Perhaps we will learn that Vos helped spring his Master from Palpatine's prison.

The threads are there for all of these things to be tied together.
