Official Episode VIII - Kylo Ren Discussion Thread

There is another option here. Not sure they will go this route, but looking at some of the things from the script leaks for force awakens. it would seem that Kylo thinks that by embracing the dark side he will avoid the mistakes of Anakin Skywalker. However, he regrets killing his father. Perhaps by the end of IX he will realize that there is no peace with the dark side and only by embracing the light will be truly be free. Now I suspect he will do some more screwed up things in VIII and redeeming Kylo after what he did in VII will be very hard, but it would be a star wars thing to do.

 

Gross transformation? Deformities?

Rey scarred his face slightly with the saber, that's all. There will be no gross transformation.

 

That would depend on how Snoke deals with failure and how much time passes between both movies

 

Yes you are right, but these are only hypotheses  and I stated the facts.

 

Doesn't mean my speculation is invalid. Im fully aware of the facts too lol. Im just discussing something I thought is possible. I put art to what I believe is Kylo Ren and the fact that he acquired some pretty bad wounds in TFA together and had an idea. This art is what gave me the idea. Didn't say I was RIGHT just thought something LIKE THIS would be really cool and would add to Kylo's fascination with Vader.

I wonder, Snoke implied that he should kill Han Solo in order to pass the rite in becoming a true acolyte of the Dark Side. However, he became weakened instead (according to the novelization and script leak)...I bet he will be as conflicted in episode 8. So if he continues his Vader-fanboy infatuation, I bet he thinks that he also has to kill all things pulling him to the light, that being his mother. So, maybe he will search a way to confront Leia during this part of the trilogy?

 

I do think Kylo will potentially face Luke at least once in the trilogy.
I don't know if he will be redeemed. We had that with Vader. Some Dark Siders just don't return to the light side.

I think we will see Kylo fall further and further to the dark side, and he will not be redeemed. I think we will see him slip into death in the arms of a family member (to be determined) and we will think that he is walking back toward the light before death, then ....

One more epically d1ck move before he goes lights out.

 

-Kylo will both undergo intense training with Snoke, while also learning more about Snoke himself.
-The Knights of Ren will play an active role this time.
-Kylo will have chase after Rey.
-He manages to defeat her this time, both because he's much more ruthless/cold this time and exploiting her overconfidence/hatred for him. She is injured in the process.
-He has a confrontation with Luke, which doesn't go well for him.
-Snoke congratulates him on his progress, but vows to both help him grow stronger, and turn Rey to his side.

 

I just personally feel it would be more original to have Kylo actually fulfill his desire and never return to the light side instead of repeating the Vader thing and have him redeemed.

I personally think the second installment should lay some neutral ground as to losses and victories. I don't think it should repeat ESB type themes where the bad guys come out completely on top in everything.

The novelizations are canon where they align with the movies. It goes on to say that Darth Bane came along and created the rule of two for the Sith. Legends, AKA the old EU, gave the name of Darth Ruin for the founder of the Sith.

He's not turning into Vader in that pic, he's turning into the Phantom of the Opera. I do NOT want Episode VIII to be a musical.

 

I think Rey will be stronger and we will see a fight with at least 2 bad guys against Rey. Perhaps the other nights of Ren

Luke has to do...well, something.

Well she could lose to snoke I suppose. Or she could beat him I guess. Hell, I guess she could beat kylo again, but of course she can.

 

He already beat Finn once.

 

I feel Kylo is just going to be more messed up .
Can he be redeemed? Maybe , but surely he can't be forgiven for slaughtering Luke's academy if that's what he did.
If Vader had survived after ROTJ what would have become of him .
I guess he would've gone into hiding because someone would've wanted him to pay for the jedi slaughter in some war crimes tribunal.

 

I think that Kylo Ren will redeem himself in his own eyes but he will be rejected by the galaxy while he's trying to atone for his sins .

 

Not sure about the lightsaber but I suspect the damaged half of his face will be covered in metal plating of some kind.

 

I am pretty sure what we seen in the concept art of the grave robber, is what will become or has become of Kylo Ren in the next two films. The "more machine now than man" version will probably not be seen until Episode 9.
