honestly, i think it'd be a pretty neat twist if Finn turned out as a Force sensitive/Jedi.

at no point in TFA do they make the idea seem impossible, so for all we know his turn from the FO was his own personal awakening in the Force.

everything is indicating some interesting changes in the saga moving forward, so i guess we'll have to wait and see!

LOL, precisely what about my avi leads you to believe I'm a Finn hater? I WANT him to be a Jedi/FS and every argument you are making in support of his Force Sensitivity I have already made (and THEN some, including the movie poster observation). I don't hate Finn at all. I'd be ELATED for Finn to FS but the Vanity Fair article that came out awhile ago suggests that there won't be a reveal (either way) about Finn being FS in Episode 8.

But Leia demonstrated an ability to connect with the force by hearing Luke call for her on Bespin.
    Finn....has not done that

yeah, the closest Finn has gotten to showing Force sensitivity would be in what could be considered his raw, natural talent.

in that one book, Before the Awakening (or something like that), they go into how he's the best of the best. this could just be him being a natural bad ass, ala Han or Poe, or it could point to him being FS.

i think one of the twists we may get is that people like Han, Poe, and Finn were FS the whole time, they just never developed the ability to consciously tap into the Force.

but again, who knows! definitely stoked for TLJ at this point (luke)

I wouldn't hate it if Finn became a Padawan by the end of this trilogy.
Maybe Luke relaxes the rules so it includes naturally gifted folk like Finn who aren't of a certain midichlorian count can join the order

Ah the midichlorians...the next big reason why I don't think Finn is force sensitive.

If he were, he'd have a noticeable level of midichlorians. Which, you would think the FO would screen for when they abduct children. High midichlorian counts go to the Knights of Ren. Normies go to be troopers.

If it turns out they just erased midichlorians for all intents and purposes...I wouldn't be mad because I hate them....but it would seem like a cheat around canon to fit Finn's force ability in.

Come one Finn hears the scream of the Republic and in this clip you can hear their screaming. Then they show you what Finn is hearing in the next clip only a fool cant understand that.

You cant say it is the people in Maz's castle because they come out after the fact! Then will the first order comes down and destroy Maz's castle those in side are fighting the first order so why would the be screaming like women, so what now?

My understanding of how the Force works is that everyone has a bit of the Force in them. What makes one Force-Sensitive is one's ability to tap into the Force. Rey displayed those abilities when she was captured by Kylo Ren. Finn was taken by the Rathtars, he could have been eaten alive. That would be the perfect opportunity for Finn to use the Force, or tap into it; however Rey was the one to save him.

Finn can become Force-Sensitive down the line like Leia, but for some reason I don't think that would be the case. Han held a lightsaber in TESB and I know for sure that doesn't make him Force-Sensitive. Unless Finn outwardly displays Force-sensitivity sort of like Rey or Luke I don't think his character will go that route.

Finn being aware that the First order was attacking Hosnian System and looked up in the sky, doesn't prove he is Force-sensitive because there were other denizens form Maz's castle that were out there too looking up. Unless it is blatantly shown, I see no evidence that Finn is Force-sensitive.

I can say that because that seems to match what they wrote happening....
Pablo Hidalgo has said he believes Finn was hearing others around him.
And the novelization has no mention of him hearing anything.
The script has it about the sound in the sky. (i.e. the weapon firing)

It's not definitive either way but it leans towards not having to do with the force.

    But that disregards midichlorians....

How do midichlorians work again? Is it the amount you have in ur system that determines if your force-sensitive?

I *think* so. I mean if not, they'd be pretty pointless to use to explain how powerful Anakin is right?

This is very similar to the infamous "Martha" scene in BvS.
Both that scene and Finn's Force sensitivity (as of now) require several leaps in logic and ignoring other things and when you use all the theories at once they kind of contradict each other.

Ah. The editor. She would know....

Again. It's cool you want him to be. But the evidence "for" is incredibly flimsy at best. Again, the script, novelization and Hidalgo all lean towards he didn't hear the screams from Hosnian. Also the sound guy.

Them telling you yea he heard the screams like telling you who is Rey's parents ask him who is Rey Parents i bet he does not know, just like he does not know if Finn is force sensitive, if Kylo Ren becomes good, or will Luke be alive at the end of 8 he would not know.

Yet you think the editor is but the sound editor wouldn't?

Huh? They are unrelated. He can still end up force sensitive without hearing the screams from Hosnian
The point is, there is literally no evidence, other than the way THAT ONE SCENE is edited to indicate that Finn did anything remotely close to force sensitive.

He the sound guy only voice over guy nothing else he not a writer he does not know any secrets he only knows what they tell him like JJ does not know what going happen in 8 or 9 and Rian Johnson does not know what going happen to 9 except what Disney tell him. If you claim Rey statement about Finn being force sensitive has no meaning because she just an actress then why in the hell you take the words of a voice over guy lol

I can tell you are getting worked up over this so I will break it down one more time and then take a break.

    1. He is not a writer. But he is the guy in charge of sound. So if the screams were recorded and used for those on Takodana, then he'd know. The editor is not a writer either but you don't seem to mind that because it doesn't discredit your argument. She doesn't even say anything remotely supporting you, just that "we don't know"

    2. I claim that the actors and actresses have tight NDAs and cannot break them without repercussions. They will not knowingly say "oh yeah no he totally has force abilities" and mean it 100% serious without majorly violating their NDA.

    3. He isn't a voice over guy. He's the sound editor. He makes sure the sound is lined up where it needs to be with the video. That's much different than a "voice over guy"

    4. Just because you really want it to be true, does not mean that it is true. It could happen. But given how the novelization and other sources explain things, there's no real evidence to support the Finn being force sensitive angle. It's a red herring right now.

Its not a case of believing it not true. We are saying there isn't any evidence to support your claim. Every piece of your evidence to support this theory lacks any objectivity. At best it's purely subjective and at it's worst it smacks of desperately trying to "force" a square peg into a round hole. The mention of 21-87 is an easter egg and fan service. To me it seems as significant as the "I have a bad feeling about this" line in every movie. It is a big leap to suggest this means Finn is force sensitive although you could be right. We will find out either way when we see the movie. If it turns out you are right I'll apologise but I doubt very much you are.

Ridley doesn't know the ins-and-outs of Star Wars. She's not really been a fan, she's just a contractor fulfilling her contract.

They've been pushing hard across the canon that anyone (not Force-sensitive, or not Jedi, or not Sith) can use a Lightsaber and there's nothing special required to do it. So there's also that.
