    I'm not 100% convinced that this is the case... but I really like it!
    I agree that it would do a good job of fleshing out Lor San Tekka as a character (which I sure is bound to happen anyway), and I'd be glad to see it happen this soon after TFA.

    They don't look like at all, but my thinking was Michael Fassbender doesn't look like Steve Jobs either. Mads is a good actor - that should factor more. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Haha, true. But there's a difference when actors are cast to play real life people compared to older or younger versions of a character.

    Didn't MSW just "leak" this thing that Mikkelsen would maybe play an imperial (who was responsible for the functional Death Star) and Felicity would be his daughter? And that his name would be Galen? Of course, MSW is not always right but his article indicated that he believes this to be pretty accurate.

    ...So I am bit skeptic about he being Lor San Tekka.

    I think he definitely is. It just seems to fit.

    Tekka is an 'old ally' according to the text crawl, yet it never mentions why.

    He also says "to me, she's always royalty", which suggests he knew her when she was mainly considered a princess - in other words, before and around ANH.

    Also Mikkelsen and Sydow are both Scandinavian and have vague similar appearances.

    I totally thought about this during my first viewing of TFA and forgot about the idea shortly after. I can definitely see the parallel.

    After all, at first glance, I would have never cast Ewan as Obi, but that apparently worked out quite well.

    R1 takes place BEFORE ANH so unless MM is playing younger than he really is then he isn't playing LST .

    It's literally a couple of months or weeks (I don't know how long it takes to plan a heist) before ANH, it's just perfect age-wise. If it's true is another thing and subject of speculation.

    I'd say it's significantly longer, but as I said earlier in the thread Michael Fassbender looks nothing like Steve Jobs. If he fits the role, why not?

    Well with Michae Fassbender, he director said that he made it a point for the actors to not NEED to look like the it real-life counterparts as all they cared about was their performances .
