Amidst the release of the film, the love, the hate, questions and speculation about the future, it seems we have all become Chewbacca in the moment he walked past Leia.. I don't know if it's just me (and this might be cheesy as he's just a fictional character but w/e) but I haven't noticed much talk about Han Solo now that we've lost that character. I started this as a sort of memorial thread to talk about Han Solo, your favourite line, scene etc. In the the OT or TFA.
    RIP Han Solo.

My favourite moment is the end of A New Hope. Luke is barrelling down the trench, Vader and the pilots on his tail then Han comes back, blows away the pilot to give Luke his chance. Then he shouts "YAHOOOOO! You're all clear, kid. Now let's blow this thing and go home."

Han's dialogue in ESB is some of the most witty, enjoyable, and humorous stuff in any film I've seen.

His delivery of "YOU COULD USE A GOOD KISS!!!" as he storms off down the Echo Base hallway is my favorite Han Solo moment. So funny. Also a little sad now...

i wrote this in another thread, but will recap here:

Han Solo is now a star.

as Han falls "into the light" when he is killed, this is a beautiful metaphor for our hero's passing.

but, not many have picked up on how Starkiller base isn't merely "destroyed", but it actually becomes a small sun...

therefore, there will always be a star in the night sky that marks the place where Han Solo became one with the cosmos.

    a very fitting, cosmic tribute....

If you read this in Neil DeGrasse Tyson's voice it's very fitting.

I wish they hadn't made new Star Wars films if they were going to kill off the original characters.

People haven't talked about Han as much because we're still coping with the trauma.

Is it possible for Han to return as a force ghost?

I understand that he was not a Jedi and seemingly did not have the ability or knowledge to become one with the force (or whatever they do) but is there anyway around this for Solo to return at the end of Episode 9 (ala Obi Wan, Anakin, Yoda) to give the character a "happy ending"?

It seems to me that where there is a will there is a way. If tptb wanted to give the character a happy ending (as presumably the 9 part saga will end with the good guys winning) they could always find a way to let Han Solo ride off into the sunset with some type of creative loophole in the whole force ghost scenario.

They still have big plans for Han Solo, with or without Harrison Ford.

There's the young Han Solo big-budget movie.
There's the rumored Han Solo big-budget video game by Visceral Games.

And there's two more movies where maybe he could appear as a hologram or force flashback. They could have even shot footage for it during VII. Who knows!?

    I personally don't think so.

Han is great, and will live on in some way, but I think it will be through flashbacks or something of that nature. Once they start trying to come up with a happy ending for every character that is well liked, I think their death loses impact.

With that said I wouldn't be opposed to seeing more Han. Harrison Ford made TFA even more enjoyable. When he steps into the role of Han, it's almost like he doesn't need to act.

    Han is dead.
He can either reappear in visions and flashbacks, or I could even buy into the idea that Kylo is haunted by the memory of him
Just don't bring him back to life or as a force ghost.

Han's final scene hits me hard every single time I see the film.. I can't believe people say they are disconnected from it and found it unemotional.. I think many fans are in denial that Han Solo's own son would be the end of him. It is one of the most emotional moments in the entire saga!

I doubt they'd kill ALL a of them but I'm pretty sure that Han Solo was killed off because of Harrison adore having THAT much pull now .

I love how Chewy is just swaying in the background of all 3.

Its sad to see Han go but it was a great moment and probably one of the greatest moments in the Saga.

It's so much more rewarding than the legends arc... Han without Chewie just wasn't very interesting.

Overall, I'm on the fence about this Han business (as I've written in a few other threads here). I don't think he'll be back as a force ghost, though I do think we'll see some flashbacks. In fact, there are ways that Han could be an extremely important and prominent character in the coming two movies via flashbacks.
    ------

Have you ever seen the rest Han/Leia exchange in the Hoth corridor that was left on the cutting room floor?
