SPECULATION Official Hux Ep IX discussion thread

He will try to stage a coup to overthrow Kylo. That's basically given. My little dream is for him to try to get some help from the Resistance in this undertaking.

 

Yes to all that. But unfortunately Hux will die in IX.

Not sure if it will be by Kylo or one of the good guys.

 

OH yeah I’m hoping this will be the dynamic in the next film as their rivalry has been set up from the last two films (one of the things both directors agreed on) so I feel their won’t be nor needs to be a new villain in the next film for we already have it ripe and ready

I do think one of them will kill another. Or maybe it’s Rey killing Hux saving Kylo as a sudo reversal to TLJ...

I do think there may even be a mutiny among first order and knight of Ren because help me out if I’m wrong....but hux makes It clear to kylo that the first order is his to command....and now with Kylo as supreme leader maybe his knights will be his....I’m rambling on now but yes I agree on all points

 

I dunno surely Hux hates the resistance more than Kylo ?

I would like to see a break away with an important higher up in the first order not agreeing with the FO's a gender and then allying with the resistence to even up the odds a bit. I cannot see the Falcon and 10 people fighting the FO all alone...

 

Things clearly won't end well between the two. While Kylo Ren has definitely the upper hand, i'm almost tempteed to bet that Hux will end up killing Kylo, simply because :
A) i don't see Kylo surviving Ep IX
B) i don't see anyone else in the cast capable of offing him

But even if that ends up happenning, i doubt Hux will get to savour his victory for even just one full minute.

 

I dunno what they do with Hux, he's basically a comedy side character now, if they go any other direction then carry on with him been a pantomime comedy villain it won't really keep inline with what we've seen from the character in The Last Jedi

 

literally my one moment of pure unadulterated joy from episode ix. XD

 

i laughed so hard at this. it was my biggest reaction through the whole movie.
second biggest reaction was when i forgot to use my internal voice when i shouted "g*ddammit!" after he was subsequently so unceremoniously shot. : o p

 

As Hux is probably my least favorite Star Wars character of all time after the slapstick performance and all the goofy faces he pulled in the Last Jedi. I have to say i loved that his screen time was massively reduced. I cheered both times i've watched the film when he was killed off!

I did like that he was trying to get back at Kylo somehow, even if I didn't totally buy he was the spy. I also have to admit I did laugh at the "About the mask? No, sir. Well done." it was actually well delivered.
