I knew R1 was gonna be crossover all along! If I have actually seen Barbarella, I'd make a joke. Alas...

 

She can't be Boba Fett's daughter too old....

 

I always figured she would be an original character who would get fleshed out more in books and comics once she gains popularity in Rogue One. Honestly I think she dies at the end of Rogue One though, the team sacrificing themselves to get the plans to Leia similar to how the Bothans died between V and VI.

I just want her characterization to be similar to Rachel McAdams in True Detective

 

She could carry all sorts of vibro-knives!

 

Judging from the cast photo, I think it's safe to say the idea that Jones is playing Sabine is officially dead (unless Sabine became very un-colorful by the time R1 happens, but still).

I just wish we got some R1 character names. Totally not for fanfiction reasons, nope.

 

I do wish it was Sabine, but I have a feeling that none of the Rebels characters make it out of the show.

 

I think we will see several of the characters die, but not ALL of them........... After seeing both Monsters and Godzilla, I have to believe that Gareth Edwards will end this with a kind of bittersweet ending, with a couple characters actually making it out. That is my guess anyway.

 

I think it is far more likely to see some of the movie characters appear on an episode of rebels. Prolly voiced by the same actors

 

I was thinking about the recently found trademarks from earlier today: Could Jones' character's name be 'Valara'? It sounds like it could be a character name.

 

Season 2 will decide that.

 

I'm glad they didn't try to doll her character up like Black Widow or something, you know- a costume that shows accentuates her curves. I ain't got nothing about butts and boobs, mind you, but I usually find it desperate when the female character in a movie is overly sexed up to appeal to the fanboys.

 

Yeah, I like some cheesecake now and then, but too much is ridiculous. Especially if Jones is indeed the lead. That said, I dig the gender-neutral clothes she's wearing, looks badass.

 

That new cast photo shows bounty hunters to me. Jones doesn't look like she's a X-wing pilot nor a Rebel fighter, more like a what a bounty hunter. Also reminds me of Firefly crew.

 

They look like rebels. Not part of the central movement, with the uniforms and the hierarchy, but like people who are resisting their government. Look at all the revolutions happening across the world, they're not particularly uniformed. They're just people.

 

I beleive the rogue one leads are all totally original resistance type characters that have found each other over a mutual hatred of the empire. Maybe a story arc of them finding each other , been given a task, completing the task with some heart ache along the way and then parting on separate paths. Think the battle scenes are where this movie will come into its own ..ACTION ACTION ACTION

I really don't think we'll see any of the Rebels die...

 

Really? It's a big, ensemble cast and that usually means one thing: cannon fodder.

Personally, I think most (if not all) will die. Otherwise, viewers will want to know where they went after R1? I think we'll see a "supreme" sacrifice in the final act and the plans will either be beamed to the Rebels while the cast draw fire away, else be transited by a droid or something....

 

Kill the whole cast in the final episode of what is essentially a kids TV show?! There were deaths in Clone Wars, and there are deaths in Rebels, but that's a bit extreme. I think we'll probably see Kanan and Ahsoka die, but the fates of the others will be up for grabs for later media. Old EU characters stuck around for ages, I don't see why Sabine, Ezra, Hera, etc. couldn't turn up in future books and other projects.

 

Ah, sorry, my bad. When you said "Rebels" I thought you meant the "good guys" in Rogue One, I didn't realise the conversation had moved on to the animated show. (I need to go back a page or two and read myself up-to-date)....
