I think he's somehow related to Rey. Rey vs. Ren.

 

Okay... what if Kylo isn't a first name but a title and that name announcement is a bit of a misdirect? If they have kept anything from George Lucas' original ideas for the sequel trilogy, it would probably be the theme of responsibility and navigating a more morally complex universe. "Kylo" could very well be another title of a force user. Let's assume the rumors are true about Luke. He has been MIA for years and improperly trained force users are starting to pop up across a galaxy that is weary of Jedi/Sith. Wouldn't these force users eventually come up with title that distances themselves from other force users? Kylo could be an ancient sect of pre-sith force users.

Paladinryan, I think you are kind of on to something. I'm speculating that Rey and Ren are siblings (possibly even twins). The naming convention is very similar to Luke and Leia. Since it's almost a given that Rey is a Solo, then Ren would be too.

I know it's all a shot in the dark, but it connects a lot of dots.

 

I think Driver is too old to be Rey's twin, unless he was aged by battle and hardship. It's more likely they're cousins or Ren is an older brother. I do think Rey and Ren are significant, though. I think Ren is a middle name (I think Rey is too).

On Twitter awhile ago, Devin said something interesting about how they'll borrow stuff from the EU, and that fans should get over it because these EU themes and plots will be new to the general audience. I think this trilogy will feature brother vs. sister conflict, or, at the very least, cousin conflict.

 

Maybe kylo ren has some ties with the Sith inquisitor rumors that we're going around didn't they say some things from rebels would tie in with the sequel trilogy

 

There's that concept art of the bad guy holding Rey captive and she just has the most defeated look on her face. Perhaps she has that look because she knows the bad guy holding her is kin.

 

Sounds like your avarage next door neighbour in the star wars universe to me.I think it's Drivers character who may be a Indie Sith (that is a wannabe and self proclaimed Sith) guided by the dark side of the force itself.

 

The lightsaber appears to match the description of a relic and that of "the collector" but he weilds it with the confidence of a Force sensitive being. He's agressive and confident in his stance. He's ready to finish what he began in that clip. Kylo has heard the voice and is following it to it's conclusion. He'll fail the test. It's inevitable, it's his destiny.

 

Well and what if he is known by his ''citizen'' name altough he is Dark Lord already.
We also meet Count Dooku who in reality is Darth Tyrannus, Palpatine, who is Darth Sidious and later emperor.
Even Vader is adressed by Imperial officers as Lord Vader, without Darth.

I think that Sith do use their alegiance name Darth only between themselves or when let themselves known to the outside world.
If no one knows that Kylo Ren is Sith, it is logical that they know him by his real name, because one doesn't simply pop up from nowhere.
Or he works as a secret agent, like Sidious and Tyrannus were, so he doesn't need people to know that he is a Sith.

But he can be of course the wannabe Sith or simply a tool to sime higher power.

 

Driver is Solo jnr, we see him on the 'Pirate Bay' base, X-wing uniform etc, meanwhile we meet the mysterious Kylo Ren figure, cloaked and masked gathering Sith relics, third act we get the reveal that Kylo = Solo Jnr. The problem is now that there is so much speculation that Kylo Ren is Driver they're trying to muddy things up a bit. As a descendant of Anakin he is a useful acquisition for the Sith and maybe it's that Skywalker force strength that allows him to reawaken the Dark Side.

 

Maybe Kylo is not a name per se but a new title (finally!) for our bad guys. Apparently the word Kylo is derived from Scandinavian for 'cold.'

Seriously, when I see Kylo, I think Kilograms, Kilometers, Kilobytes.

The equivalent in french for "He has gain a few pounds" is "a pris quelques Kilo de trop".

Ye gods, yes! His death scene is almost - almost - as bad as the Anakin/Padme AotC scene by the fireplace. Why he didn't just stick his ignited saber out in front of him and slice Obi-Wan in half is beyond me, but the fact that he seemed shocked and confused by how he managed to flip over him, thus simply standing there, waiting to be killed, is completely idiotic. Maul was so very steeped in darkness and intrigue, right from the trailer, that we all just had to know more about him. So to then kill him off at the end of TPM in a ridiculous "schoolboy-error" way was just awful. He would have made a spectacular villain for the entire PT, as can be seen in TCW.

Hell yes! I really hope the starting point for JJ and co for making the new movies was to say, "OK, what did people HATE about the OT and PT? What can we do differently that will get them to love them and buy every piece of merchandise they can get their hands on?"

Incidentally, I think Kylo will be played by a still un-announced actor - you know what JJ's like with keeping secrets. I can't work out if it's MvS' or the new actor's character who is the Sith afficionado, collecting all the relics and so on. It could be that MvS collects the relics of a time gone by as some kind of nostalgia / historian effort, but Kylo (a self-taught Force-sensitive heading down the Dark Side path) finds out about the collection and maybe kills him and takes it all for himself, at which point there is some kind of manifestation of the Dark Side (probably a long-dead Sith'ari, given that reports have said that Serkis is playing a mo-cap character that hasn't been in the saga so far). The manifestation then speaks of how Kylo has proven himself worthy of becoming a Sith Apprentice, but must do some tasks before his training can start - possibly something that will lead to the Sith'ari's reincarnation....

 

That's interesting. Where is this from, Willybobo? I'm a Norwegian and can attest that "kylo" is no closer to Scandinavian words for cold than the English. "Cold" is koll/kald/kold in Swedish/Norwegian/Danish, and has the same origin as cold (Proto-Germanic "kaldaz"). Perhaps it is a reference to the Finnish kylmä? (Although that seems a bit of a stretch too). You woke the language nerd in me, Willybobo Source please?

Perhaps, Kylo is an anagram for Loki (Loky). Loki assisted the gods and sometimes caused problems for the gods.

 

Or it is from Japanese and their crazy engrish, he is the King of killing, the Kill-Oh!!!

So Im sure everyone has heard one of the many rumors saying that the main sith in Episode 7 name is Ruin, but we got the names of characters in the trailer and the sith name is Kylo Ren... Ren sounds like Ruin... so maybe Ruin is his nickname?!? What are yall's thoughts on this?

 

Maybe. But that makes one wonder if there will also be a red tattooed Twi'lek named Darth Talon and a Darth Kyrat running around.

Don't get me wrong, but does this all sound too convinient?
I think that all rumors that are coming last few days are false and fake propaganda.
It started with Cards and now this information???
For me, it is all fake info.
Probably before that some rumour that came out was true one (in last week, before Topps cards).
Which one, I don't know.
Now they want to camouflage things.

Like I said, until I see First full trailer, this is all ridicoulus
But I can bet that in the end we will see: Story of Darth Caedus....Rise and Fall of Young Solo.

 

I can't say I disagree with you. I was just speculating cause if they take Ruyn's name it makes you wonder if they borrow from his story. But nothing is real till it happens. It wouldn't surprise me even when they do a full trailer it will that it will be edited to increase mystery and speculation not answer any questions.
