If this jedi masscare or whatever happened five years ago from TFA why does Luke look so different in the Forceback? Why younger and less weight? They seem to hide his face. But why? I understand why for TFA, but TLJ makes no sense. I'm not saying it isn't him but he looks so different. Just strange. I watched the forceback and the TLJ trailer today and that jumped out at me.

In The Force Awakens vision Luke was played by Mark Hamill, I don't see why they would change that for The Last Jedi. Yes, we never saw his face, but we know it was Mark with Artoo thanks to photos from that shoot. To me it looks exactly the same, the body language matches well with what we saw from TFA, so I assume it's still Mark.

Yeah I see nothing that would make me think it wasn't Mark.

It could be Anakin and R2 as well if past vision. Could be Rey if in future she loses arm.

I've got a feeling that's kind of the implication. A lot of people have been suggesting for a while that Luke has been in a self-imposed exile. Now, we have a pretty specific name for it.

I don't know how true this is, but surely it's interesting. Could be considered minor spoiler (not story-based).

(Also, the comment with the most upvotes is priceless.)

Yeah, don't think RJ will be destroying Luke's character.

    Well, not permanently :p

Although I have the feeling that Rey's attitude toward Luke will be quite different than what she has toward Han.

Tbh the TLJ Rey-Luke dynamic in TLJ is just a big ole question mark...

Ben Solo didn't burn and kill Luke's trainees.

    Luke did.

This would be funny if someone wasn't legitimately trying to argue for it.

Well, Rian did say that they "have to work together ", is we'll see how this will pan out. Conflict is good or else it would be incredibly boring.

Ben burned the Tree to hurt Luke ... I think in the process the temple caught fire. Ben did not kill the kids but you are going to get a misdirection in the film of seeing Ben walking among the dead bodies. Luke killed them because of not who Snoke is but what Snoke is ... When the opportunity rose to find Ben and be able to track him back to the temple by making sure he learns about Vader. This left Ben distracted and he did not pay attention to his returning route. Remember from Bloodline Luke kept his temple hidden. Vader is not why Ben turned and Ben did not turn like you think he did nor for the reasons. If you will notice Luke is returning by himself. Ben must have been out doing research when he learned about Vader and his Mother. Ben returns looking for Luke but Luke left looking for him to try to fix it ... Ben burns the tree.. and Luke and he may or may not fight but Ben leaves. .. I think at this point Ben throws or Luke takes his Saber. Ben has a temper we know. So Luke is now by himself. Snokes people followed Ben (maybe Luke) to the temple Luke and the students try to fight them off. Finally its to the point They want to take the children alive (the want the children alive so Snoke can drain them for he can have more power and extend his life and probably the younger the better) Luke makes a decision to kill the children since he cannot stop them from taking the children. In the process, they have taken both Lukes saber and Ben's . Ben returned and here is where you get the flashback scene of him walking among the dead bodies. Luke is broken. Here is where you get he blames himself. Ben now sees the light side did not protect the children ... Ben loved those children as much as Luke did. The difference now is Ben knows about Vader so he leaves and goes to the acolytes of the Beyond.. he creates the spin-off of he Knights of Ren. he starts building a force up and learning the dark side. he feels that dark side will be stronger to stop Snoke. So for about 5 1/2 years, he builds this force and then he gets a calling card from snoke... its Vader's helmet ... I think he knows he is not ready to take Snoke on but he goes. this is where you get the stuff about his cloak is tattered etc.. he has not been long with the FO. The speech to the helmet is a misdirection and it's so ominous it should be obvious. What throws Ben off is he finds out about SKB and now he needs Luke to help ... So he needs the map and that is what that whole story is about. He had to kill San tekka to make sure Hux did not get his hands on him ... He did not know if San Tekka without the map might still know where Luke is .... and he knows San Tekka would never survive Hux's torture. You get confirmation from through Poe.. "You might want to rethink your strategy ... in the book, it went on to say Dead men can't talk' And Ren simply agreed in the book. he was not even mad about the so called insult. Ben did not turn because of Vader he had come back ... But when he saw the children. Like Luke he felt responsible too I think. So each man went their own way .. to resolve this. Both trying to fix something when they need each other to do it .. and that is what Rey is for.anyway that is my take on it ...

Now the kids aren't in any immediate danger and he still kills the kids. In the presence of the kidnappers who are taking them to Snoke whose not there personally. But Luke W/O his sabre kills the kids instead of the kidnappers.

Still you suggest that Ben a padawan sees this as weakness of the Light. Its evil. Its not mercy its murder. Apparently because they are easier targets than the actual kidnappers.

You seem to really push this idea what's your source?

And Kylo isn't really obsessed with Vader? (kylo ren)(dark)
