I like the idea of Qui-Gon in the movie, but Force ghost has implications these days. Though we would have to accept another actor in the role of young Luke, we could get to see Kenobi watching him race his T-16 thru Beggar's Canyon and rescue him from the Hutt gang. There's also a chance he travels to Mos Espa. A duel with Maul would top it off awesomely.

Obi Wan is such a strong character with such an amazing actor and strong support from the fans that if Ewan was willing should definitely do more than one Kenobi movie. In my ideal world it would be a trilogy with each movie being a unique genre.

The first movie would be set during the clone wars and focus on Obi Wan and an underrepresented Jedi like Kit Fisto, obviously this would be a very war-like movie and allow for Temuera Morrison to play the clones with personality like in TCW. Maybe have a Hayden cameo and possibly Samuel L. Jackson.

The second would be an psychedelic adventure film about Obi Wan's journey to becoming a force ghost and the trials he must take (like Yoda's in TCW arc). This would be early in his exile and would look pretty much like he does in Ep. 3. It would feel very Dr. Strange-esque with the reality bending style. The climax would feature Obi Wan having to face his "dark side" (like Shadow Yoda) but instead of it being an evil Obi Wan he has to face Anakin who turns into Vader during the fight. So we get to see what an intense fight between suited up Vader and Obi Wan would be like. The whole movie would feature Qui Gon's voice guiding him and maybe feature Neeson as a vision during the trials.

The third would be a very 7 Samurai/ Magnificent 7 type movie about Luke being kidnapped and Owen asking Obi Wan to save him. Obi Wan would be much closer to Old Ben by now and we would see Ewan with grey/white hair. Obi Wan and Owen go off and along the way begin to meet others who have troubles with the gang who kidnapped Luke (Jabba's men). The only returning character would be Cad Bane who is no longer a respected Bounty hunter due to Boba basically forcing him out. Cad Bane recognized Kenobi but only makes passing reference to it. Obi Wan would go the entire movie without using the saber and only melee or blaster fighting. Everyone is killed except Owen, Ben, and Cad Bane and the gang gets overconfident. A sandstorm comes which leads to an amazing sequence of the gang being picked off (Batman style) and the only thing they can see is the glow of his saber in the sand. Obi Wan defeats them and as the storm disperses we see that Cad Bane was shot in the scuffle and he admits to Obi Wan that he knew it was him and says that it is good to die for something instead of just dying in some cesspool. Ben and Owen retrieve Luke and the final shot is Obi Wan and Owen parting ways under the Twin Suns.

Could be argued that if they meet for a second duel in a spin off film that at this stage Vader is still learning the ways of the dark side of force.

Even if it's not the case the quote can still reconcile in that he mentions it in context of when he stopped being Obi-wan's apprentice. Does not mean they have not met since, just not in a long time.

I'm on the fence when it comes to an Obi-Wan standalone set between RotS and ANH. I would love to see Ewan in this role on screen again, but I'm not sure whether such film could bring much to the table. You know, it would be something cool to see but there's very little room for a compelling film storywise, especially when you take popular appeal into account.

However, if they did a Kenobi-centric film set during the Clone Wars - that would be the best thing in the history of things. Virtually every cast member from prequels could potentially return if needed. Sadly, I think they will keep staying away from the prequel era at least for the time being. And that's a shame, because it has an enormous spin-off potential.

Yes please ;);), although with the sad loss of Lee, he has to be either only mentioned or be CGI. But Ashoka and Ventress could finally make it into a Star Wars movie ;);) .. I'm on board ;);)..

I really wanted to see something like the Old Wounds comic from the EU where Kenobi fights a bionic Maul one last time on the big screen. They could have even gotten Ray Park back in the role!

But then Star Wars Rebels came along and smashed that concept with a sledgehammer. :(

There's still a chance they could show that in the Obi-Wan film if they ever decide to make it. Obviously it won't be much of a fight considering how anticlimatic their duel was on Rebels, but they could still show the confrontation between the two characters if it fit into the story.

I guess they could make an adaptation of that. I expect if they did it might be another cool end sequence like Vader's final scene in Rogue One.

I imagine we'd see: 'Many years later...', cut to Maul lost in the desert, their final fight, and then finish the film with Kenobi watching Luke in the distance.

It could be a nice way for near-OT Obi-Wan to bring PT characters closer to the timeline.

Not visually, but recollections/mentions of, say, Dooku, heck even Grievous - just situations that occurred for him that would further tie the two trilogies together - similarly to how Rebels did in their Twin Suns episode - Alec Guinness Obi fighting Maul was great to see.

Intrigued to see what story they go for that won't tarnish the image of Obi as a hermit.

What if they're making Rey his granddaughter and they do a Hobbit on it?
(The original/old Bilbo telling frodo In the present day, i never told you the whole truth) and have the film start off with Luke sitting Rey down telling her the tale of obi wan (from his journals) and it dissolves into the past and goes from there with luke as narrator?

    That would be cool.

I'm wondering could we see Liam return as Qui gon force ghost?

We could see Obi wan find out Anakin is alive and is Vader? Could we see Vader hunting Jedi in the purge? (How is it Vader never came looking for obi wan? Is that answered anywhere?)

I'm all for an Obi in exile movie, but I really want it to be a completely separate story from the saga. Which basically equates to keep Luke out of it. If child Luke were to be part of the story it would be more of a saga film than a spin off IMO.

Yeah obiwan in exile would be cool, like the mythos Obi Wan. Honestly I kind of want to see the movie set between 2&3. I want to see obi wan and Anakin together. Obi wan refers to Anakin as a good friend, I didn't really see that in the prequels. They were always seperated.

However I do like the Galactic Civil war era, so you know, I would like anything really.

I really hope we see Ewan, Hayden and even Liam reprise their roles. The movie will most likely be set between III and IV (closer to ROTS though). The cool thing about this movie is that it would be a very character driven story.

I want to see the moment when Obi-Wan realizes that Darth Vader survied the burning on Mustafar. This realization should have a huge impact on Kenobi. His student is alive? What will he do now? Will he try to save him?

I can see them making a great story out of it. Since flashbacks are no longer a foreign concept to Star Wars, we could have the main story focused on Obi-Wan living in the desert, watching Luke from a distance, and focus on his struggle to reach the cosmic Force guided by Qui-Gon (it would be awesome to have Liam on this!) and then seeing him trying to let everything go, and see his painful memories - this would be a great way to introduce the casual movie viewer to Maul back in the game back in TCW S5, have a glimpse of how he started as a Jedi youngling with a young CGI Liam Neeson (come on, they pulled it off with RDJ in Civil War, they can make it happen with Liam), then a glimpse of him meeting Anakin, another of Maul killing Satine his first love (and it Cate Blanchett does a cameo here I'd love this!). They could add the comic storyline shown in the Journal of Obi-Wan Kenobi when he interacted with Uncle Owen (bring Joel Edgerton for this too) and a young Luke could be perfectly made by Jacob Tremblay.
