If any SW show is gonna make me cry, it's this one.

I am super excited for this series - it’s great to see Obi-wan back. Most importantly there is just ZERO substitute for John Williams SW music and themes - amazing.

My only complaint - The Volume. I get it, it’s amazing technology and far better than other attempts for TV….but the first few scenes in the trailer with Obi riding across Tatooine and sitting outside the cave scream fake backgrounds…it really disappoints me. It just doesn’t compare to the films imo.

Obi-wan deserves a big movie budget and on location filming!

I guess Empire guys like The Emperor, Tarkin and others will have minor appearances and they will keep it in secret.

Have to agree a little with you @Old Jedi , some sets and environemnets looks fake, like Boba Fett. It's my only concern, with the eternal debate of the gritty cinematography. At this point doesn't seem too cinematic for me, as they said.

 

Anybody else feeling like this is essentially Star Wars Episode 3.5?

Something about seeing Ewan and Edgerton back on screen, with the John Williams music, it just feels like a continuation of the Star Wars of my childhood. Maybe more than anything Disney has yet produced.

 

Race shouldn't have anything to do with this but I keep seeing a recent trend of bashing movie directors for their decisions on which actors they'll select for roles. Now would I want superman to be black coming from a black man myself? No! But, when I logged onto Reddit and visited multiple posts seeing the fanbase despise an actor who hasn't even had a chance to appear on an episode it's damaging to me. It lets me know people don't have the common sense to treat movies as artwork, which they are! I had to remove myself from that Reddit channel it was absolutely horrendous. @Lord Phanatic, amazing post man.

From the trailer and what I've seen my expectations are high and I'm excited about this one. I haven't had one negative issue I myself love the way the grand inquisitor looked, people need to just suck it up and enjoy things instead of critiquing every little crook and cranny

No, no. I was refering the first shot of him, in where it seems a marketplace. But as @Angelman pointed well, seems pretty clear is a proprietor of some establishment.

I made the same mistake here. It seems to be Daiyu, a new Hong Kong style city.

But definetly, if we don't see Obi-Wan in Coruscant again could be a big missed oportunity. Cause one of the coolest aspects of SW is to see known characters to go places they (and we, as spectators) already know and have been there.

 

Perhaps I'm in the minority here but I wholly disagree on visiting THE CAPITAL. For Hunter-Moon's sake, it could be any other former Jedi.... but not Kenobi and mos-def not on Coruscant.

 

I had seen it before, but this name didn't mean anything to me. Now I'm so civilized

 

I respect that although I wonder why most-def not Obi-Wan. He was attached to that planet for a long time and he knows it.

For me could be so interesting. A part from visually, Lucas gave and interesting planet we haven't visited again. Obi-Wan (and nobody) didn't saw Palpatine's plans. Could be interesting to go back to Coruscant in a darker way, and for himself try to find more information about it (First McQuarrie illustrations set Emperor's cave under the city). Or go to a Jedi Temple in ruins trying to find something (Jedi books, localisation of remaining Jedi...). I think could add tension walking through that planet. But these are just personal thoughts and opinions.
