I agree ^ but no Vader in this film this is the film for Obi to tie up lose ends with Darth Maul i mean am i the only one that is wondering why he got to live at the end of the clone wars and he still is kinda running Mandalor Obi didn't really stop or kick him off the planet and we all know Maul wants to kill Obi for the lose of his lower regions (giggity).... also could smell an appearance of my homie Boba being he doesn't come into the canon till empire strikes back ... im just saying Lucas brought Maul back for a reason i would think Boba learning about his lineage and home world as like lets see a young adult and being a anti hero type with Obi as they take down Maul and make Maul be the strategic mind that his his in Lockdown novel Not the 2 line talking Sith Lord in PT

Seeing Obi-Wan complete his 'evolution' to Ben Kenobi would be fantastic, and Ewan certainly earned the right to see his character all the way through to Alec Guiness' Ben Kenobi. Did he have to protect Luke and the Lars' from any threats? What about that comic where Maul threatens the Homestead and Obi-Wan saves them? There are plenty of lose ends here. Why does Owen Lars seem to have hard feelings towards Obi-Wan? How does Luke know anything about Ben? Have they met before? It must have had an impact of mystery and intrigue on young Luke.

    So much potential here.

I would be the first in line for an Ewan McGregor Obiwan film :) He was my favorite character in the prequels :D

I'd much rather have a KOTOR style video game (but with real time combat) based around Obi Wan between ep 3 and 4. Make it when Ewan Mcgregor hits 50 and have him do the motion capture, doing a closer impression to Alec Guinness' voice. They can also make the character more Alec Guinness-like in appearance this way; the game would sell like hot cakes. In fact the game could take place over a a period of ten years, we see Obi Wan age, the movement gets more clunky.. his saber abilities get more stiff, eventually transforming into Alec Guinness with the story ending two years before A New Hope.

Lucasfilm should also make me the lead designer and pay me a million dollars up front.

Since Rogue One takes place episodes 3-4, I don't care for another spinoff from this time period but an Obi-wan film would be interesting.

What we need is a spinoff from between 6-7, and one between 7-9. Don't really care to see origin movies about characters... That is what's comics and novels are for.

ive always said a western-style showdown between obi-wan and darth maul on tatooine n an "anthology" was the only way to redeem the brainless decision to bring him back in clone wars oh and they HAVE to do a live-action reenactment of the emperor owning him and his brother if I knew nothing else about the movie other than that would feature in it id be sold on that alone

I'll believe it when I see it.

That being said. I'm strongly in favor of it. McGregor was one of the best things about the prequels and I would love to see him on his own in a film not confined by the requirements of the main saga. They could do a lot of great tings with Kenobi's character during that time frame.

I would love to see another Obi Wan movie with Ewan McGregor! I thought his performance stood out as one of the best from the PT. I think there's much potential here.

I like the idea of this better than TFA to be honest. Does that make me a bad person??

i'd like to see Kenobi mix it up with Darth Maul. Also the Death Watch storyline from Clone Wars was fantastic.

I always liked his Obi Wan Kenobi. He was the bright spot of the prequels. I would love for him to get a chance to show us how Obi Wan deals with the fallout of Anakin's turn and Jedi's defeat and his own role in it. And just how he knows that "Mos Eisley Spaceport is the most wretched hive of scum and villainy"? What did he do there? And all those years on Tatooine? Was it all on Tatooine? Questions, questions...

Just give us more Obi Wan, Ewan is already on board. (ben)

More films starring Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi would be a great idea. Of course he spent a great deal of time watching over Luke, but not every day over 19 years. I was never a fan of TPTB choosing to bring back Darth Maul for the Clone Wars, but if he and Obi-Wan fought again and Obi-Wan finally, really killed him I would be okay with that.

At this point in time, anyone but McGregor playing Obi-Wan would be a very bad move on Disney's part. It would be like asking Adam Sandler to play Darth Vader.

Because McGregor was absolutely spot on with his portrayal of a young Alec Guiness so why would Disney recast? Do you need any more logic than that? He has the requisite SW experience, is still young enough to handle the physical aspects of the role and shown more than a keen interest in making a movie, I point to recent the Spider-man mess for an example as to how not to handle a fan favourite in film.

also Adam Sandler is too short to play Darth Vader ;)

I am in no way a paid shill for audible, but the audiobook version of Kenobi was so fun to listen to. I'd love to see a similar story play out on the big screen i.e. how an honest guy trying so hard to stay anonymous can't help fighting for people in need, and becoming known as a crazy old wizard in the process. Seeing Ewan in Jedi robes taking up a light saber again would be a joy!

I don't think we need a new Obi Wan anthology trilogy. Rey's upcoming lightsaber battles will put Obi-Wan's skills to shame.
