Is Rose not actually in this very much?
Also, Rose didn't get her own character poster. Do we need to worry?!

No, no we don't. It's just a random publicity image. Nothing major.

Rose is new. Also, Poe is a very minimal presence on the poster (according to MSW descriptions). I hope that's not the case.

I mean the character poster. Rose didn't get one.

Also, in the first poster concept, the one with tiny Poe, there's no mention of Rose at all. What does it mean? Not much. Sure, Poe probably won't get as much action as Rose and Finn in Act II, as the Canto Bight scenes seem to be action-heavy, but he will be in the film, with Leia, probabbly budding heads with Vice Admiral Holdo.

Ya'll are funny. It even says on the book cover with Rey, Finn, and Rose that it's not the final cover.

Rose is not given a red poster because she hasn't been formally introduced to the audience yet.

The red posters show the characters from the first film highlighted in red with their faces cut from the nose up. Being artsy yet intense.

There's no point to give Rose one, because the majority of audience wouldn't recognize her with her face cut off and in red.

And this is coming from a Rose fan.

The Marvel Poe Dameron #14 comics indicate that Poe is being groomed to take over for leadership by Leia, and Oscar Isaac elaborated on the relevance to that in The Last Jedi recently. This hinting is canon established in the comics already, so it's not a secret.

Oscar Isaac: “Poe is in some ways a surrogate son for Leia. But also I think she sees in him the potential for a truly great leader of the Resistance and beyond.” “Poe’s arc is one of evolving from a heroic soldier to a seasoned leader, to see beyond the single-mindedness of winning the battle to the larger picture of the future of the galaxy. I think Leia knows she won’t be around forever and she, with tough love, wants to push Poe to be more than the badass pilot, to temper his heroic impulses with wisdom and clarity.” “One of my favorite things that would happen from time to time on set would be when Carrie would sing old songs. Whenever that would happen I would offer her my hand and we would waltz around the set – on a starship, in a Rebel base, on an alien planet, and she would sing and we would dance. So surreal and beautiful to think about now. For all of her delicious, wicked humor and fiery energy she also had such sweet grace. I miss her dearly.” (August 10, 2017)

Poe won't die... he is confirmed to be in Episode IX.

I'm more interested in seeing where the force tree growing on Poe's ranch fits into the trilogy...hopefully we'll learns more about it before Episode IX.

Has the meaning of Roaehal (found on Poe's helmet) been revealed as yet?

If Poe is kind of a surrogate son then that tells me alot about where Leia's thought process is. She may love Ben, but I think she is as equally disappointed in Ben as Han was. It seems to be a family dysfunction. She sent him away with Luke. I bet she wanted him to follow in her footsteps and take over as being a leader when she is gone or done. Pure speculation, but this could bring great conflict when Ben sees this that she thinks of Poe like a son.

I think it could be even more interesting...
Because you have to add Rey to the picture.
She's got the Falcon and Luke.

In this sense, Ben/Kylo is the heir "usurped" at any rate.

And perhaps that's being foreshadowed in TFA.

    Kylo speaks to Vader's helmet.
But he also interrogates both Poe and Rey.
In these sense is speaking to the new heirs... to Anakin's legacy through Leia and Luke
in the Resistance and in the Jedi Order.

It works even better if Rey is not Anakin's blood...
    But however it works.

That's great news that the best pilot in the galaxy makes it till the finale.

Even though he's professional, I'm sure Poe views Leia as a surrogate mother, since his died when he was 8.

Imo Poe needs just a little more in the marketing.

I agree, but one thing I was thinking about was how Poe really wasn't that important in TFA really until JJ and Kasdan decided not to kill him off. In TFA he was just for the most part a vehicle for Finn's escape. Then disappears and comes back later.

I hope Rian has made him pretty important which I believe he has according to some of the things I've read. He is important to Leia.

Considering the Poe Dameron comic series seems to be doing well and despite his limited role, his toys weren't peg warmers (actually sold better than some of the characters with larger roles).... I would say he will be much more important in this upcoming movie. It makes sense from a business point of view and OI is an outstanding actor- would be stupid of TPTB to give him little screen time once again.
