    yes, the porgs need a thread of their own and you know it.

    so: cute little critters you want to cuddle or the annoying ewoks of the ST?

    i feel slightly on the fence. a lot depends on their behavior.
    for the moment they're kind of a combination of a puffin and an otter, both of which are adorable in real life.
    so technically it should work?

    Right now they are firmly in the cute little critters camp & at least this time they are unlikely to take out a squad of the FO finest. But until we get to see them in actual footage it going to be hard to say if they do become a distraction during the film.

    I like them.
    They have the potential to be great creatures. On the on hand they will be used for comedy and cuteness, that's for sure. But on the other hand I think these little creatures will have a pretty badass moment in the movie. Maybe they'll save Rey from a monster or something like that.

    i agree: they are likely just part of the fauna of the island.
    will probably just see them bumbling around while Rey and Luke are having heavier dialogue-intense negotiations.

    Those are sea creatures, fishing and swiming in sea, probabaly nesting on those small islands. Like a penguins.
