Disney TFA Spot - Rey Focus

 

Because we're good little wallets who like whatever we're told to all of the time, and especially like being jerked around after getting excited to see the original cast in a movie together again after 32 years. Yay cameos!

We all know that all of the excitement for this movie is to see Daisy Mae and Finn Boyega and bad guys with septillion-bladed lightsabers...whoopee....rejoice!

And I guess we can rejoice that they at least can't ruin Luke with awful writing if they never put him in the film at all, right.....? That's cause to rejoice for....



People keep comparing this to Empire Strikes Back: we had A New Hope before Empire Strikes Back, something to satisfy us and hook us at first before being thrown into a cliffhanger ending...

 

I want to rejoice at the fact that Han Solo will come back as a force ghost...we never knew he was one with the force, and he was really a jedi apprentice like Kanan WHO became a smuggler to save his ass. That's why he never dies despite never wanting to know the odds. He is like young-Anakin Skywalker, anticipating his moves/others', but he was like barely 9 or 10 when the order fell so he has no training and doesn't no sith about the force or how to use it...that's why he is so cynical about the jedi and the force. So, he will DIE in VII at the very end á la obi-wan Kenobi after finally realizing the true meaning of the force, so he knows he will be back to help. He smuggles and is a cynic and helps everyone because he has to. He saves the new kids to help the future of the galaxy .

In a recent episode of the Empire podcast, actress Saoirse Ronan said that when she originally went in to audition for the part of Rey, she had a blast pretending to play around with a lightsaber. We haven’t seen Ridley wield the traditional Jedi weapon in any footage, but it might be that her ever-present staff is holding a few secrets and that the Force is strong with this one.

I also still think she is a Skywalker-Solo kid. Because one hint is from Kennedy herself, saying that the saga is about the Skywalkers. Who's more likely to have a kid Han and Leia. But I think they have two, a cliffhanger sibling confrontation like father and son.. Kylo and Rey!

As the exec producer of TFA, his deal probey includes perpetuity so imagINe $3 BILLION + annual payments of of MINIMUM 35% PER YEAR FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE.

 

I am starting to resign myself to the fact that Luke just simply isn't going to be throwing out impressive displays of the Force and lightsaber skills as a Jedi Master in these films. As much as I would love to see it, and I think a lot of fans would love to see what he can do after all of this time, the team just simply doesn't want him to do this. They seem to want him to be nothing more than an ineffectual hermit on a secluded island planet whose only use is to teach the real hero. I am resigning myself to him basically being Yoda in this new trilogy.

Deep down, I absolutely hate this, and I can't help but feel a little anger toward the filmmakers over this. I have to be honest. I am one of those fans who has always wanted to see this happen, especially given the expectations that have been built up over what powerful Jedi and Sith in the Republic times could do. I feel it's something that is really owed to the character, because his development as a Jedi should not just stop with where it was at the end of ROTJ.

But that's not the story that's coming. I don't think w'll ever see this, not even in an Anthology film, as I really don't think that the team at LucasFilm seem to have much respect for the character or any idea of how admired he is by a lot of fans. They seem more intent to please the Han Solo and Boba Fett fanboys than anyone, because they sell more toys. That is a shame, because Luke's real significance is so much greater than theirs.

I am fine with a new generation of Star Wars. I love Star Wars. I just truly regret that we will never get to see Luke in his full fighting glory as a Jedi Master.

 

Signs point to Rey using the saber at the end and accepting her destiny. However the staff is still just a staff. In my opinion of course. I'll be surprised if it turns out to be anything more.

 

While I don't think we will see Luke battle with a saber in TFA, I would not lose all hope for the rest of the ST. I think there still is a good chance that we will see him use one at some point during the trilogy

 

I noticed them in the background. Since the furry guy is now we see two aliens and one was pictured with Warwick D. I believe he is the other one.

 

I am confident that audiences will go bananas at the end of The Force Awakens.

 

New theory that came to me. Rey is Luke's daughter! (No revelation there look at the poll lots of people believe that) but if that's the case what about the mother..there is the mystery. 2 thoughts....first thing is the mother question won't be answered until Ep VIII obviously.... but the reason for Reys abandonement is her mother is on the darkside. Theory 1: the rumored female dark Jedi in the next movie is Rey's mother (also a KOR?) and Luke hid her to protect her. Theory 2: Same scenario except Rey's mother is......wait for it.... Captain Phasma! Rey I am your mother...... just some wild guesses.

 

Or maybe they could throw EU fans a cookie.

 

I hate to say it (again) but I am really not all that impressed by Daisy Ridley's delivery of her lines.

It just sounds rehearsed. I dunno. I should wait until I see the damn film, but I have concerns. For what it's worth.
