I've seen him in a couple other things, Jumper comes to mind, nothing recent but he didn't give a good performance in those movies either.

Not saying I expect her to be bad or anything.

 

I imagine its the accent. it hasn't quite grown on me yet. Plus we've only heard her talk early on in the movie which she recounts she was a bit wooden on the first day. Perhaps it gets better and the accent will grow on you once we see her act a bit more. Lets give her the benefit of the doubt. Cause by the 18th all bets are off ,if people don't like the movie they will be looking for scapegoats.

 

About the accents so Finn has an American accent and he is an imperial who usually have an English accent. While Rey has an English accent while her rumored parents do not hmmm. Wonder who raised her.

Actually a British actress Kate Fleetwood plays Rey's mother in the flashback in VII.

Never heard that rumor before. Where did you hear it? Did the actress have red hair?!?

 

Ashley Fleetwood is the girlfriend/wife of Daniel Fleetwood, the dying fan who got to see TFA early. She is not involved in the production. Unless there is another, who is actually in the movie.

Yeah I thought that too...but I had her first name wrong...so I quickly changed it.

 

Has she spoken about her supposed "role" yet ?

 

Okay I see she is in Episode VII the only thing that is still confusing is where did you get the information that she is playing Rey's mama.

 

I suspect he is just speculating. I have seen no reports or rumors of her role. Unless he has a source that has fed him that info. Until he confirms that I consider him speculating.

 

I don't think Daisy is very good at ADR. She was pretty stiff when compared to John in that 15 second clip. She also auditioned significantly less than John. She auditioned 5 times vs John who had to audition 8-9 times and two months longer. Which is weird since she is the lead. It would make sense for her to go through the more rigorous process.

 

Yeah it was on a website Along with a photo of her in the film and a full breakdown of the whole movie which sounded like 90% of what I've read here and on MSW. Actually a little disappointed after I did because it kind of ruined it for me if it is true...which like I said 90% met the speculation of other pages.
Rey doesn't remember her parents. But after meeting Maz and her ...Ive lived long enough to see your eyes in different people...I know your eyes speech Rey starts remembering and...

Then did some investigating on sites online. I have a new phone so the download and link to the other site are gone.

 

I may be wrong, but I think the mods prefer people don't link to that blog - they just steal content from other sites and present it as their own.

Interesting about the actress though, I wonder if she plays the mother, with child, who Rey watches from her shelter on Jakku. Would make sense to me if the woman in this scene reminded Rey of her own mother, if there was a visual similarity this would help establish what Rey is thinking...

Well and remember Leia was saying one time what she remembered about her real mother too...in one of the films...

 

With mdoern ADR, you can auto-sync the dialogue, it's also partially blaming the editors and the directors.
