Dahntahn I actually sounds more cockney than northern, downtown is not really a northern term. There are many different slants on accents. If the film is set down in places like London it will be either cockney or posh. If people from Lancashire and Yorkshire that would be northern. If a person is from Liverpool it will be scouser. People from Newcastle or Sunderland then that accent would be described as geordie. The UK has actually a wide variety of accents for such a small country. That is also not forgetting the Northern Irish accent and the scottish.

 

Yeah we say Dahntahn or stuff like "quit clahnin arahn" instead of clowning around. Hahahaha I don't say that but that's the Pittsburgh accent.

 

I did not mean to start this accent topic and cause people to start hatin' on accents the more the merrier, it's a big galaxy...I just wanted to see if you could find connections through characters...although they should have allowed mace windu a little more freedom. Seattle has the official American accent...jusssttt kidding.

 

In my opinion this is a clue. Rey is a new Luke of ST .

Ok folks. Here goes. I've been a proponent that Daisy Ridley would be Kira Rey Solo based on the naming of Kylo Ren. Lots of early early rumors pointed to siblings ala Jacen and Jaina. However, I've been given some informed speculation on why "Kira" was Rey's production name. I'm in no way in the know. I don't know anyone working on this movie or any movie for that matter. This comes to me via co-workers who claim to have a friend who has a friend who is someone's hairdresser's cousin's room mate. Take it for what you will.

Basically this gist is, during production (or possibly casting) Daisy Ridley was mistaken a number of times for Keira Knightly. She has the same accent and a similar look. I guess the running joke was they started to call her "Kira" and it just stuck as her code name.

Chew on it. Spit it out. Do what you will. But it actually sounds plausible. Now I want to know what her full REAL name will be!

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if she turned out to be someone completely different than everyone thought. But then again, I'm still holding on to the (Increasingly unlikely) idea that she's Luke's daughter.

Also, I remember weeks ago Jedi News (I think it was? I might be mistaken) posted a very brief speculation that Felicity Jones could be playing Rey's mother in the (At the time unnamed) spinoff. I think all the actresses considered had similar looks in the eye/hair color department, as does Daisy. Though that depends on whether Rogue One takes place before or after TFA.

 

I don't actually think she's either solo or skywalker myself. I think Rey is short for another name but her actual name we wont find that until much later.

 

Rey is the new Luke skywalker and the daughter of Han & Leia. She even looks like Padme and Leia does she not?

 

She looks like Padme. But I think and hope that she is a Luke daughter.

 

My original hypothesis was that Luke went back to live a farmer's life (a la Clint Eastwood in Unforgiven)... His wife somehow died, pregnant with Rey... Luke left, thinking both mother and baby to be dead. Rey somehow survived and found a way to make her life and to survive on her own.

I see it would handicap the story to have her as Han & Leia's daughter...

Family feud?

What would be more powerful to the story, to have an orphaned Rey, or a broken family? Or maybe, she's just not related to anyone.

 

I don't care who's daughter she is as long as she's skywalker bloodline considering she seems to be the main hero and it is episode 7

 

SPOILER: According to my source, outdated concept art has revealed that Rey is in fact Luke's father's uncle's nephew's former roommate. Totes 100% fact, yo.

 

While I don't dislike the idea, I feel that Luke would be able to sense when a Life was snuffed out.
