Not really usually the mythic weapon has some special properties there is nothing special about Anakin's Lightsaber as compared to any other lightsaber.

 

...TF did i just watch? that is probably the worse trailer i've ever seen and it seems to be a period piece so why use imagine dragons? The trailer is very ranom and doesn't show anything really. From the trailer at least, it doesn't seem to be shot very well and seems meh.

 

I think the Force Awakens just proved that wrong. Kylo wants it and it's special to him. It was special to Luke and everyone who had it even Maz. It's special in the hands of Rey cause it gave her a vision. They also made it special by the only one who was destined to get it was Rey, so it certainly was.

 

Well they used an Imagine Dragon Song in WW. So I don't know Imagine Dragons is In Vogue Now I guess....

WW is more fantasy and a comic book but this one is supposedly taking place as a period piece that has more realism than a comic book movie

 

Oh i agree but its just weird to me Imagine Dragons is getting play in major trailers these days.

What if Rey's parents were actually suppose to leave Rey with someone else for example Lor San Tekka but then Unkar Plutt intervened. Perhaps her parents were only meant to be away for a very short amount of time and on their return got side tracked, captured or maybe even killed? What if Rey's parents are actually still alive? Maybe the picture of DJ (benicio del toro) was him on Rey's parents ship? What exactly was happening the moment Rey was dropped off on Jakku? Is Rey's isolation the result of a failed mission?

Just some thoughts that have crossed my mind today. Apologies if this has been spoken about before, I couldn't find any threads discussing this and would love to know what you guys think.

In this concept art of Rey's parents ship who could those figures be? Her parents? I like to believe it's Rey's parents and a what potentially looks like a small dog like creature or maybe even a young Rey holding something in her hands facing her parents.

 

For some reason I don't think we'll discover who Rey's parents are. I just hope she isn't a reincarnation of the force.

 

In Rey's vision, the person who is holding her back by the arm and says "Quiet, girl" is supposed to be Plutt. So I'm guessing that whoever left her was desperate and in a hurry, and had no choice but to leave her with the disgusting creature. Probably planning to come back as soon as possible.
Either that, or she was left by someone who saw her as a burden, possibly even someone who killed her parents but didn't have the heart to kill a little girl. She screams "come back", but any child would react like that to being left with Plutt on a desert planet. That was her family's ship flying away, but anyone could have been in it.

I'm sure that if it was her parents who left her, they are dead. If they were alive, they would have found a way to come back during all those years. Speaking of which, at one point during the interrogation Kylo Ren says, about Han, "he feels like the father you never had". So it's likely that Rey never met her father. Her mind wasn't wiped, she knows who her family is, yet there's no father figure in her mind. Maybe he died before she was born, anything is possible. The figures in the artwork might be a woman and her 2 children, one of them older. Maybe Rey had an older brother, who knows. This would explain the male voice that says "stay right here sweetheart, I'll come back for you". Either that or the writers got confused one day and decided to have Kylo Ren say the father figure line for no reason, and the man saying that he'll come back was actually her father. Now dead, of course.

 

I believe it's been confirmed that those people are not Rey/her family.
