SPECULATION Official Rey's family sig Poll thread!!

Leia and Han's daughter. Darth Vader's granddaughter. Leia's Skywalker bloodline.

Don't know when exactly they will directly reveal it though. It was possible it was a part of VII at one point, but instead got punted to VIII or IX. The sooner this is dispensed with the better.

 

I agree. She will somehow be Han and Leia's daughter, but there must have been alot of amnesia going on...with everyone

 

Could be Snoke's daughter.

Magnar - I don't know how they will reveal it; how they will explain but when it is revealed the anger, rage and down right dark place Rey will take herself will be the pivotal moment of this trilogy. It is then the Luke Skywalker we all know and love will be revealed. As at that moment Luke will realize what needs to be don't to protect the Skywalker bloodline (whatever that may be)

 

I have two theories.


1. She is a clone... She is a clone of either palpatine, vader, or Luke. She was created in the research facility on Jakku that is constantly talked about but has no explanation for. The DNA they were using was degraded, so they had to double up the X-chromosome and fill in the gaps manually, hence her differences from the source material.

She escaped the facility when salvagers found it, possibly being released from stasis at this time... It may very well be this revelation that leads to the creation of the new Jedi, as her memories will lead them back to jakku and lead them to thawing out the new children of the force.

2. She is the daughter or granddaughter of palpatine, either through frozen sperm or just his grand daughter. She was being groomed at the facility on Jakku and blah blah blah you know the rest.

My evidence... only one piece, and that is the presence of an imperial facility in her forceback. There are few reasons a young Rey would be at a facility, and even fewer reasons the knights of Ren would save a young Rey (if that is what that flashback was implying)

I am not putting down any bets, but mark my words. Genetically modified clone, Palpatines Heir... or both.

(and you folks who want her to be a skywalker can have your way with this theory too, as two of the potential sources of DNA that would be imperial remnants go-to would be skywalkers... or even a mixture of DNA from different sources like you see with Superboy in some versions)

Rey need not have ever been to an Imp. facility to have visions of one. She glimpses whatever places the Force 'wants' her to see.

(That said, Rey is obviously a Kenobi IMHO As for Rey being a clone or Palpatine's petridish baby, I don't believe that. Too complicated an explanation. No, someone fell in love and had a baby, legitimatly or not, and Rey's that baby)

What is your take on the events from the canon novels where she isn't even mentioned?

Deep down I'm cheering for her to be a Solo/Skywalker, but I've been seeing that less and less likely....

 

Well to be fair, the author of Bloodlines doesnt even know who Reys parents are. Its not something they'd reveal in a side novel. Not saying it will happen but I could easily see them saying after the fact "Of course she wasnt mentioned. Do you really think we would spoil that plotline in a novel?". Pablo has already said there is a reason Snoke was never mentioned, I could also see that maybe applying here. I think its very unlikely she is a Solo though.

 

Also, to be fair... it would be a huge mistake for Lucasfilm to authorize a book about Leia titled Bloodline, that discusses her family, and that doesn't mention the tragedy of a lost/dead daughter. When that book was authorized Lucasfilm already knew the the story with Rey. Why would they do that? The story group isn't dumb.

Basically for the Han/Leia theory to work we have to assume that Lucasfilm is incompetent. I'm going to remain optimistic an assume that's not the case.

 

This seems more of a Poll thread than a Wager thread.

I like the idea she is Leia and Han´s daughter. A missed daughter from a battle or supposedly killed in some battle. That´s why anyone don´t talk about it, because it is one more taint in the skywalker family. That´s why in the force awakens novel when Han saw Rey he smiles to her, only reminding him his lost or killed daughter. That´s why she complets his dialogues and in the ending of the film Leia feels a familar force in she giving her more then a casual hug.

I wonder is the research facility on Jakku might have been used as a stormtrooper training center. Perhaps Rey was kidnapped as a baby like Finn and then got simply left behind

 

The Imperial Research Center on Jakku was destroyed one year after the Battle of Endor, after the Battle of Jakku. The Imperials ran/flew away to the Unknown Regions.

I'm pretty sure both JJ and the Bloodline novel confirm that Leia and Rey aren't mother and daughter (JJ talking about why Leia hugged Rey instead of Chewie and Bloodline having no mention of other children with Han, or really other children in general). Then again, IIRC, Poe is said to have a close relationship with Leia and that didn't show up in Bloodline at all.

It could be, but isn't Snoke supposed to be an alien and Rey a human...? I'm not denying your theory! I'm just curious as to how it would work...

True, but she was given suggestions on things to add by Rian Johnson, so if he wanted her to know and put in clues he probably would have suggested she do so (or maybe he suggested she leave certain things blank so he can explore them more).

 

The author wasn't told anything about Rey and they aren't going to blow a key reveal meant for a future movie in a book. Thousands read books. Millions watch movies. Movies are way more profitable and are more of a priority (as is television and the video games).











As for Poe, he wasn't introduced to Leia until shortly before TFA (Star Wars: Before The Awakening) and he then joined the Resistance.
