Hello i've seen a lot of similarities with the Jedi Knight game and decided to make a fan trailer, hope you enjoy.

 

Felicity Jones seemed a bit wooden. Forrest Whittaker is going to be awesome.

Regarding the planet with the ATATs, could it be Rakata Prime/Lehon - linking the ancient history of the star forge with the construction of the death star or specifically the superlaser.

I think it's because it's another British Caucasian, brunette female lead. If she was Asian, or Black, or Latin, or Native American, etc, there would've been not much backlash.

I mean, look at it this way: People don't like when a character's race, or gender, is changed, so create new characters, right? Fine, they did so with Rey, Finn, and Poe.

They want to have leading females right? Fine. They've got Rey. Next up...another white girl, that's a brunette and British. It gives the impression that Disney is kinda being disingenuous with this female empowerment thing, when we just get another of the same looking character.

Then there's attitude, personality....she's pretty much the generic action chick. That's not as interesting as the female lead in Cloverfield Lane, for instance.

 

I showed mum the new trailer yesterday and as soon as it was finished, all she could say was "Where's Luke?" I mean for godssake!!

 

When they announced that there were going to be stand alone movies, I was so indifferent. Kind of felt like, well... it's not an Episode movie so do I really care? I mean a movie about how they got the Death Star plans? Do I need that the story (of all stories) filled in? I mean, we get it, a lot of Bothans died, that's all we need to know right? But when I saw that trailer, I already started penciling in dates for when I could go see it. I'm just a Star Wars fan for life. If they give me a good product... or even a marginal one, I'll show up. I can't help it. I love the franchise. Plus speculating about this movie helps me take me mind off of what's going to happen in Episode 8 since I'm basically 2 years away from finding out.

 

Looks really cool. I really like the name Jyn. Think I may just have to use it in my own writing. Haha

 

I was a little bit surprised by the casting and the reaction. Based on the trailer we see there's going to be a lot of new faces and they are diverse (hooray) but Felicity's casting makes it seems like they have an archetype in mind when creating story leads. If there was a deliberate attempt to be more diverse in these movies (and I'm not saying there was, but if there was) I wouldn't have minded seeing another under represented segment in the lead; man or woman.

As far as her actual acting, I think she's probably taking undue heat here, I mean the character is supposed to be dark and serious (if I'm not mistaken) so I don't see where there is room for her to be more "Daisy Ridley-ish". I think she'll do fine in portraying the actual character being very stoic.

 

1. It's a joke. You obviously didn't meannn to sneak in your dislike for TFA, but it happened. Guess it's just in the nature of you people.

3. Perhaps you misunderstood. I said that the practical affects in the past 6 (mainly referring to 4,5,6) were awesome.
Then i said that the CGI in these 6 movies (especially the prequels) are god awful (e.g. yoda in PT and jabba in OT)
I never complained about the puppets in the OT. Just saying that people like you don't seem to recognize there are so many practical effects in these films because they are really good, and don't look tacky. (those effects in the OT were great for that day and age)

Rogue One is a standalone war film. YOU should be complaining about how episode 8 will be SOOOOO BAADDDD because it might be similar to ESB

 

You are correct. My bad since I cannot recall exactly the particular details of that deleted scene and just read one Legends Journal that mentions that. So yes we don't know what happens with the Tantive IV after it was boarded but the point here is that at that point in time, Biggs was there in Tatooine where the plans being stolen had happened barely just shortly before.

Well, I was sort of in the middle but I was pleasantly surprised and really really excited. And I really have to acknowledge that Lucasfilm has done a really good job with the new canon stuff. I was hesitant to start watching Rebels but now I am totally into it, same with the books and the comics.

My friend props and aliens don't make up an ENTIRE movie like you said but neather does making an EXACT clone of a movie. This generation seems to love that as we can see that the movie theatre of these days has become so lame and unoriginal that all it seems to be doing is rebooting past movies that were awesome but I don't find that amazing. So if that works for you than go ahead and have a blast cause that's fine by me but you don't clone classics like Blade Runner, Terminator or Aliens and just expect me to drool about what an awesome movie that was just because it was made with the tech of now a days or because it was filled with fan service just for nostalgias sake.

Seriously, fan service isn't a bad thing and i don't understand people who complain about. TFA was heavier with that kind of thing, but not to the point where it was negatively affecting the plot or movie itself. It was fun, and everyone in the cinema laughed, cried and screamed and every moment.
In the movie did you storm out of the cinema screaming "damn it there's to much fan service in this sh*t, I'M so much BETTER than that!!!!", "I'm not going to laugh because they WANT me to laugh".

Everything HAS to have an ulterior motive these days. "It was for fan service!", "they did it for the money", "it's just some feminist agenda!"

What I expect from rogue one is not to have some new clues to the plot, I expect to feel the oppression of living in the empire, how dictatorship leads normal people to risk their lives to fight for freedom. What make people thing this is enough and start to fight back.
