Screamed my lungs out and am crying and shouting "THIS IS GOING TO BE AWESOME". Outta my way doubters!

 

Yeah I should've specified. I meant ESB should be the first movie feat AT-ATs. I don't think of Rebels - or anything outside the movies - as canon but rather fun non-canon SW fiction, my bad.

 

I was not too hyped about the movie until now. Sure, Star Wars. Original Era. I love Star Wars Rebels, but you know?
We, the eternally PT damaged... we worry.
BUT HOLY Maclunkey blast WHAT WAS THAT? OMG!

And the music? Blast.
I still have the music for the last TFA trailer as my morning alarm, but it might get some serious competition because that weave of the Star Wars theme and the Imperial March at the end?
That was Maclunkey real!

The shots of the trailer were great, the feel, the look, that was so Star Wars it hurt.
But it had Forest Whitaker. Like.. you know? Star Wars with Forest Whitaker. Something I never knew I needed, but obvs I do.

And the Grand Admiral. The cape. On the water. Blast.

As someone said earlier, having by the end of the trailer both the Imperial March and the Force Theme playing: awesome!

And that line of Mon Mothma: "We have a mission for you. A major weapon's test is imminent." Wow. That was definitely a good casting. It sounds like ROTJ Mon Mothma! ("The Emperor has made a critical mistake...")

 

Great teaser trailer! Now all we need a full length one. Had that old school heart, new tech upgrade, and new school skills. Overall I'm hyped.

Howd they get another Mon mothma

 

My reaction to the trailer was very subdued. No chills. No bubbling excitement. Nothing like any of the Force Awakens trailers.

There was nothing wrong with it, but there just wasn't anything to get me excited yet. I think that's partly due to their decision to go back in the timeline - I don't find the premise compelling, something that's been true since I first heard about this movie. I think it's also partially due to Rebels, which is already exploring this era of Star Wars history.

Don't get me wrong, it's visually stunning. I already love Felicity Jones, and I'm excited about the casting. And there will be more trailers to come - more opportunities to get me on board the hype train. And even if I never do get swept up in it, I will still see the movie on opening night.

It's just that nothing about this movie feels magical to me yet. I realize that's an ambiguous statement, but that difficult to define feeling is one I've always associated with Star Wars.

 

For me, Felicity was, without a doubt, the highlight. I like that she's a rebel - that she has a rebellious nature. With luck she listens to metal \m/ Jones really grabbed me with her presence. I was surprised to dig Young Mon Mothma. Their interaction (prissy serious leader vs low life metalhead rebel) sounds like entertainment to me.

For those in the know, who is the Magneto-like Imperial? Is it Yularen?

 

Same here. I was swearing and screaming my lungs out too. Yeaaah!

I don't judge. But I was like you thinking Rebels was just a cartoon show and I was pleasantly surprised. Really good show.

I loved the gritty look of it. You can imagine that actually happening before the OT! Not a PT hater here, but I do acknowledge the missing elements from the prequels lol.

Really looking forward to December.

I'm not going to lie, haven't paid much attention to RO other than high level stuff. Mostly because I kinda figured it was going to be a so-so filler film, like 6/10, eh nice to watch for SW nostalgia sake. But HOLY blast!!! That trailer put me back on the hype train, big time!!! Definitely think this can hold some weight until we wait for Ep8!

 

Also has anyone else noticed the imperial March music has been blended with Luke skywalker's theme ?

 

I don't know if you guys & girls realised this, but this will be the first Star Wars movie where Death Star/major imperial base won't be blown up

 

Trailer looks awesome. The overall look seems really good. So nice to see OT stuff again!!!!
I really like the actress portraying Mon Mothma. She nails the voice! Overall great... however two things I'm concerned about...

1. While there was some concern over Ridley and Boyega's characters based on the Teasers/Trailers and they turned out to be great in TFA I'm a little weary of Felicity Jones' Jyn character. Now granted they are just laying the ground work for the very basic idea of the plot so everyone can understand the basis of it but some of her lines in it / the type of character she seems to be seems very familiar....why does it seem so familiar? Oh yeah....



The girl who is troubled and misunderstood yet ends up saving the day etc. As long as they don't harp on this the whole time it wont be a problem for me. I'm just hoping they don't pound this into our skulls the way THG did with it's main character. It got extremely annoying to me while watching those movies.

2. I'm personally not feeling the Shadow Troopers. They are by no means going to make or break the movie but they look like something out of the ST not the OT time period.

Not trying to be overly negative because I really do think it looks great just voicing my potential concern as well as my excitement.

 

I also just realized hat HOW COME NONE of the troopers take out the guy who's beating up one of them with a stick lol .

 

Thought this teaser was much better than the original TFA teaser. I am so pumped!

 

Well felicity doesn't look misunderstood...unlike Rey.

 

If she is a bordeline criminal and she ends up being the person who gets the death star plans that end up aiding in the destructon of the Death Star that seems pretty misunderstood to me.

 

Stray thoughts after seeing the trailer a couple more times:
Is Felicity Jones' character still in the running to be Rey's mom? Because I kinda feel like the accent, hair, and the Force theme help defend that theory.
Am I the only one who after seeing the trailer still kinda wants Donnie Yen's character to be Kanan somehow...?
How did they sneak Mon Mothma in there?!?
How do you think this will connect to Rebels? Will Jyn's character be introduced in Rebels or some other link? Tseebo?
