    Is this where TROS starts?
Will the opening crawl will be about this journey?
    What do you think?

I think this will be near the beginning, perhaps first 30-45 minutes. Can't say why, but everyone seems quite ''clean" as if they haven't been put through the mincer yet

To me, this feels like it could either be an opening adventure that gives us the inciting incident and the question that will propel the characters through their final transformation. OR the other possibility is that this is the midpoint of the film where Rey's descent into the belly of the beast (Leviathan/Storming the Castle) from classic story structure. That way, maybe returning to the desert world could be the "Returning to the Ordinary World with the Elixir" phase of the film where a changed Rey who has gone through darkness comes back with the tools and new perspective to succeed

"This is at the beginning of the movie", JJ said. Endor? Yavin?

If that's the case, then the Death Star scene feels even more like the midpoint to me with what little I know about the story from the teaser

If you look at the first Teaser from TFA and TLJ it’s mostly footage from the first 1/2 of the movie. The real Trailer in October will probably show more footage from the second 1/2 of the movie. So yes the Death Star plot is probably the first act of TROS.

My guess is that it's part of the first act. Maybe a second trailer gives more information regarding the story.

    Coming here form another thred...

I think the sequence is, Jungle Planet (or wherever the MF is parked).
    Desert planet
    Then DS's planet

    That because of this:

He's wearing the scarf on his neck, but here

The scarf is on his arm, as if he needs to wrap a wound. So I assume, this comes after the battle on/escape from the desert planet.

To me it really feels like the DS scene is towards the end of the first half of the movie. Although it would make sense to go to the desert planet at the end if it is Tatooine, end it where it began, I think that portion may be at the beginning of the film. Then the gang heads to find the DS. Then from there, who knows.

I think the journey to the DSII wreckage will be in the beginning of the third act.

If it is part of the first act, it would probably be the "Break Into Two" part that takes us into the second act with a revelation

I think it'll at least be in the first half, but it escapes me as to why they're there (looking at the DS2), unless they're on Yavin at the rebel base and it's a local and legendary attraction...but it would seem that there's a REASON they're there.

Great observation! I thought the jungle planet and the DS planet could be the same one (with the environment changing near the ocean), but this detail definitely makes it look like two separate ones with the desert planet in between. And it kind of turns my vague perception of the plot on its head, because for some reason I thought the desert planet is at the end. Well, this could also be true, since there was a rumour that they used Jordan for two planets... Or maybe they go back, similarly to Naboo in TPM.

The "jungle planet" looks a bit like Endor, which is why I thought it could be the DS planet. So now the question is how did the DS debris fall on a different planet than Endor?

The most interesting question is: what are they doing there?

My theory is that the climax of the movie will be on board of the wreckage of the DS with Palpatine spirit ''haunting'' the corridors and playing with the mind of the heroes AND Kylo Ren...Maybe

I assumed it was Endor, given the Palpatine laugh- though if it's the same as the jungle planet, I'd lean more toward Yavin IV's moon.

This is a good question, though. Why go back to Endor/Yavin (assuming it is one of those two, which I think makes sense)?

A MacGuffin? Was there something on the Death Star that needs to be recovered? Kyber crystals seem like the obvious go to, there.

Or maybe it is to directly confront Palpatine?

    Or to recover IG-88A? :p

I have two wild guesses a the moment: 1) for some reason they're tracing the places where major events from Luke's or Anakin's life took place ("The Rise of Skywalker"), since there was a rumour that Tatooine could also be back in some capacity, 2) they're searching for Palpatine or are lured by him. Those two could be related.

In case you haven't seen, this could explain why they're at the Death Star.

I'm happy as long as they are not just visiting the remains of the destructed Death Star II ... because they are on holiday on the Forest Moon of Endor ... as a matter of fact it's bound to be a famous landmark in the galaxy, don't you think?
