    The Biggs and Luke talking scene is very good, and it's essential to the movie. In the end, shortly before the Battle of Yavin, we saw Biggs and Luke reunite. So we should realize how far Luke's journey has been. Maybe it should have been included, after Owen and Luke bought the droids.

    I agree, as the Biggs/Luke Yavin scene was added in the Speial Edition it would have made more sense if this Tatooine scene had been included as well.

    Top image ("lonely Tarkin") not in final film. In the final film Tarkin talks to Commander Number One ("Chief Bast") while Motti appears to be standing on the left near the control tower.

    Bottom image (Death Star travelling through hyperspace) probably scheduled to show up right after Tarkin said "I'm taking an awful risk, Vader. This had better work."

    Agree. This scenes is so cool. I would love to see the Luke's finishing the green saber in the final cut also.

    it's so surreal after all these years to see that scene.
    just a little lost gem from long ago.

    as kids we could only dream of footage like this surfacing.
    now "deleted scenes" are practically expected (demanded!) on video releases. : D

    With these deleted scenes that we ppsted here? No, but I would love to see a special edition of ROTJ with the sandstorm scene and Luke finishing his green saber.

    AFAIK the dialogue was never re-dubbed in postproduction, so we'd be left with rather inaudible dialogue because of all the noise created by the fans on the film set.

    It's quite ironic: The sandstorm scene was the first one shot with a fully half-built lifesize Millennium Falcon film set, but later on in the Headquarter Frigate's hangar it's just a matte painting. :(
