SPECULATION Padmé Didn’t Die of a Broken Heart

In the book Anakin is surprised when Palpatine tells him he knew about his and Padme's secret wedding almost from the day it was held.

Anakin is flustered and asks how, and Palpatine admonishes him saying it's simple- He and Padme are both from Naboo, are both politicians of that planet, and have known each other for years. As a politician, he knows the comings and goings of other politicians, and because of his position, he knows plenty of the clergy on Naboo, so it wasn't terribly hard to figure out.

His explanation made perfect sense. No magic powers indeed, just a nosy politician, a less than careful pair of newlyweds, and a clergy member who may have unknowingly said a little too much.

 

Anakin could not hide anything from him not even this

 

Again, I don't think anyone would question how he would know about their wedding or her death.

Oddly, I do wonder what the public was told about her death. They made her look like she was still pregnant so you can't say she died during child birth, and at the same time, "dying of a broken heart" would raise a question or two.

Oh snap.,.i guarantee that the Jedi were publicly blamed for it. Very convenient way to support the story that they attempted to over throw the government and even killed a famous, popular, pacifist senator.

 

Oh God...not the "Leia knew her mother" round table again.

The writing of that scene in ROTJ is atrocious. Nothing leads anybody to believe Leia thought or new that "Mrs. Organa" wasn't her real mother, and had Padme lived, Vader would have known he had children and hunted her and them down. Padme certainly wouldn't have lived for a time as Alderaanian royalty (seriously? Rather obvious).

The PT, in this case, actually tried to correct the logical errors of that horribly written scene.

 

I guess because Uncle Owen refused to talk about her, her memory was then forgotten the only memory he had was his father.

 

Owen Lars met her once for a few days, 4 years before Obi-Wan showed up with a baby.

I sincerely doubt Kenobi told him who the mother was (plausible deniability if ever asked).

Back to Padme dying from a broken heart.In the NEW essential guide,it says she died from the wounds she recieved from Anakin. That's the version I go from.

 

Wounds? she did not receive any wounds just a fatal force choke or maybe her body could not cope with giving birth to twins or stress of knowing her husband destroyed democracy in the galaxy that lasted for 1000 years.

 

I don't see the big problem with this.
Giving birth to twins is more difficult than for one child. And she was strangled until she LOST CONSCIOUSNESS. She gave birth straight after this event, so it's not so unbelieveable that she died. And who knows how long she was unconscious while Obi-Wan and Anakin were fighting.

I don't think Palpatine killed her. Anakin became his apprentice to learn how to save her. If she's dead Anakin has no use for Palpatine anymore and might try to kill his master and/or rejoin the Jedi. While if she's alive Anakin will do anything Palpatine asks for in order to learn how prevent his family from death forever. So killing Padme would be senseless.
