Alright people, this one is simple and a little time sensitive. Thanks to @Glennfett i got some credits to throw down on this, i'm seeing a fair amount of people saying they think the The Force Awakens is going to be rated PG in the MPAA rating system. I however disagree, I strongly believe that the movie will be rated PG-13, so much so that i'm willing to throw down 600 credits on this wager.

If people are getting shot, blown up and/or stabbed enough, it's going to get the PG-13 rating.

My credits are on the PG-13 rating for sure.

I did say *possible. Maybe or maybe not. I do feel that this movie is darker in terms of what they are actually gonna show.

Awh man, these 2 months can't go fast enough! Bring on the trailer! I hope we see Kylo messing things up in the trailer, more ammo for the PG-13 theory.

I'm not making any bets, but I think it will safely be a PG-13 movie based on what's been described.

If friggin' Ant-Man gets a PG-13 rating, then I'm pretty sure this will, too.

I'm going underdog with PG. I think they will be shooting for PG because that's what the OT was, but then again, PG13 didn't exist during the OT era...all three might get a PG13 now days, what with all the dismemberment and battles...I don't know. I'm pulling for PG and hoping they keep it kid freindly. I saw the OT when I was 4 years old. I'd hate to rob a lot of 4 year olds of TFA. But if the content of the movie is similar to the OT I think most parents will be OK with their kids watching it. The MPAA's ratings seem fairly arbitray now days anyway. But I don't see TFA being any more violent than AotC, which was PG, and that wasn't that long ago. I don't know! Good question!

I'll match your 600 credits. @Duke Groundrunner and say PG.

Do send credits to @Wuher ?

Hate to jump on the popular opinion in a wager, since that usually means you don't get as much as you normally would, but I'll put down 10 on PG13.

PG-13, 100%. Films for kids have gotten darker, and more mature, in general, as we've realized that kids aren't entirely unable to comprehend adult themes. I think that with this changing attitude, they won't be too cautious about trying to limit the violence/themes to achieve a PG-rating. Parents are more willing to let their kids experience violence, these days. I'm not here to comment on whether that's a good or a bad thing, but it makes me believe the filmmakers went darker.
