OFFICIAL NEWS Phasma will live to Episode VIII

I really hope that we will see more of her in EP VIII. And I hope that she will be better character in that movie.
In TFA she is just glorified cameo.

 

Am I the only one who noticed that when Finn, Han, and Chewie are in Starkiller Base (after they've held Phasma at gunpoint), Han picks up a cape and has a puzzled look on his face?

The scene is extremely fast, only a couple seconds, but it's definitely there.

I believe the cape is Phasma's.

 

All that hype and her image in marketing is hopefully for more than that. KK spoke of her as "a strong female role" etc. so she better do something even though her character was just an after thought. Her design was originally a kylo concept so she is kind of an after thought. Either way I hope she does more in VIII.

 

Just my two cents...I think she is going to be found in the trash compactor and demoted from Captain. She'll still remain in the ranks of Stormtroopers though. Then she will either try to work her way back to Captain by trying to catch/kill Finn or she'll leave the First Order and try to join the Resistance and then the guessing game will be is true truly a traitor or just playing them.

 

I don't think they'll be able to find her in the Trash Compactor.

I believe it's stated in the official canon somewhere that somehow made it off like with Lylo Men .

 

I figured she would make it out somehow. I thought I had heard in some report/article that she was supposed to have a larger role in VIII, though I could just be fabricating that memory.

That's why I started the thread in the Spoiler Board, because I wasn't sure if there was an "official" way she got out of the Compactor, or if it is going to be brushed aside and assumed that she got out by the time Episode 8 comes out.

 

It's never stated how she got out, but she did similar to Boba Fett and The Sarlaax Pitt, but it's stated outright that Hux goes to rescue Kylo seen, I forget where so you'd have to look it up z

 

I was pretty sure Hux probably scooped Kylo up, since he was already retreating. But it will be interesting to see what badass thing Captain Phasma did to escape! I really hope there is novelization or an explanation in Ep 8 to describe Phasma's escape, rather than glossing over it and letting us just assume she made it out. At least Boba Fett got a cool escape story with explosions!
