Given we know from some rumors and spoilers what planets, (or at least the kind and amount) will be in Episode 7, what worlds would you like or expect to see in 8? Any from the PT or OT, or would you rather have completely new worlds?

You can even stretch this question to Episode 9 if you wish.

My personal gut feeling is Tatooine won't be in 8, as it's obviously in 7. It sounds like the protagonists will narrowly escape the Empire and it will be the last place they'll want to go back to. I guess it all hinges on where the Rebels / Empire, or Jedi / Sith are based.

On another note, one of the great things locationally about Empire was not just the 3 worlds; Hoth, Dagobar, Bespin, but the fact that much of the movie was shot in space, on a Star Destroyer or the Millenium Falcon. What if Episode 8 is like that, with virtually no planet scenes. For example, long chase scenes and battles. That could make a great contrast to the rest of the saga and make the movie really stand out on its own.

I would love to see a hybrid CGI and miniature Cloud City and actually get to see the city more. I always wished in the OT they were able to walk somewhere else in the city. Also I would love to see Coruscant again now after all these years have passed. PArt of me wants to see Hoth again, and also I want to see Onderon.

I think we will see Coruscant more than any other planet in TFA.

I would like to love to see Coruscant again too, but what makes you say that? We've had no indication that Coruscant will be in TFA. I can see it in later episodes.

    I would like to see:

Cloud City (which is on the planet of Bespin)
    Coruscant
    Lothal
Moraband (you know, the Sith home world)

It's the capital of the new republic, just like it was for the sith, I guess Luke will be seen making politic decisions there, plus a major space or ground battle might happen, at this thirty year period Coruscant was pretty much a city planet turned battlefield.
I think pretty much all four will appear in the trilogy, maybe Korriban more than Moraband

I am still having the vision of a siamese twin planet (like a deformed planet that is the result of the fusion of two planets that collided).... I know it might sound absurd, but that would give stunning visual.

I think we might see Naboo again.

Episode VIII will take place entirely on Lothal, at which point Dave Filoni will cameo in the film as himself and say "YOU COULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS!" by breaking the fourth wall.

I believe it will follow the general pattern of introducing a very important, yet strange place. Dagobah for sure was a deep bog of dark side and mystery, and Geonosis was a strange desert-like insect hive place, which surprisingly also had many droid factories, droid meet bug in a sense.

I wouldn't mind a return visit to Coruscant, see what's happened to it over the past 50 years. But I'd prefer to see all new planets in Episode VIII.

That's one of the many things I like about ESB, every planet we see is new! None of them we had seen before. That's what I want to see again. Something new. New is great.

I agree with new planets making their debut in this trilogy but Coruscant always deserves it's place the jedi after all never moved house since Tython so it will have to appear sometime.

Number one place I want to see in episode VIII: Utapau.
On the matter of Coruscant, I've been thinking about how it 'fits' now in the galaxy. Maybe it's trashed up really bad from both sides trying to take it. I don't think JJ would pull a "Vulcan" again but with superweapons on both sides.. (epic fail)
Anyway, if it's in TFA then its the best kept secret of the movie.

Utapau was a great planet to choose as a battlefield & the site of the Obi Wan Grievous duel but I doubt it will have further purpose unless someone repairs the droids remains left behind from Grievous charred remains.

Well...since Tatooine doesn't seem like it will be in 7 anymore, it'd be bold to place it in 8. I feel like we can't go the whole sequel trilogy without it.

The I'd like to see what Bespin/Coruscant is like. Some sort of city planet would keep things fresh. Then something new.

Korriban is Moraband now. I'd like to see it too.

In the Star Wars Legends continuity, Moraband was named Korriban and served as the homeworld of the Sith species. It was first introduced in the new Star Wars canon in "Sacrifice," an episode of the television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. George Lucas preferred the name Moraband over Korriban during story development, leading canon material to refer to the planet as Moraband.

One of my favorite parts of the Star Wars universe is, well, the universe. The unique planets that we've seen in the films - but especially in the animated series - are often captivating and tend to characterize the story. Would the story that unfolded on Hoth feel the same in any other environment? Sometimes the are inseparable form the narrative; Yoda hid on Dabogah because of the density of life and, therefore, the living force would hide his presence.

One of the criticisms that has been levied on 'The Force Awakens' has been that the planets were unimaginative and, in the case of Takodana and D'Qar, just too alike.

All that behind us, where would you like the events of Episode VIII to unfold? Are there any planets from the Prequel or Original Trilogies that you'd like to revisit? Why?

[I tried to create a better poll with specific planets we could see but there are more planets than allowable options!]
    --- Double Post Merged, Dec 19, 2015, Original Post Date: Dec 19, 2015 ---
I for one believe we'll see:
    • the planet where Luke took refuge
    • Chandrilla
    • a PT planet because I've heard Rian Johnson is PT-sympathetic
    • not a planet but I suspect we'll see wherever Snoke lives (a mobile station of some kind)
    Any other thoughts?
