Information on the Skellig Michael filming.

^ They said the Irish board was first contacted in February 2014 about filming there. At first, the production was pushing for filming to happen in early July but there was pushback for it to happen instead in September. The end of July was reached as some sort of compromise. The production had to provide details as to who would be there and where on the island they would film. Some information was blacked out and redacted, but the journalist says that a character was filmed on the lower staircase on the island and he believes the monastic huts will be featured.

Han is not necessarily from Corellia in the new cannon. But he does mention the "big Correlian ships" in ANH.

I would also love to see Nar Shadda! I'm sure we will if they do a Han/Lando buddy spinoff or a Boba spinoff.

Han is Corellian in the original ANH script and in the novel, if I remember correctly.

I always thought by "big Correllian ships" Han was referring to Star Destroyers.
That would be super awesome! <3

Big Corellian ships to me were one's the size of the medical frigate but corellian made, maybe the one's the size of Mon calamari used in ROTJ, that type.

The Tantive IV, the first ship you see in star wars is a Corellian Corvette.
Edit:I know those were Mon Cal's, I just meant something of that size.

I don't think he meant Star Destroyers, I think comparing a "big Corellian ship" to the mon calamari medical frigate is fair. We just never had the opportunity to see one.

I don't see what the canon would gain by being snobby and not making Han Solo Corellian when that's what everyone has decided he was for decades.

I'd put my over/under at 4-5 planets for this upcoming film. Desert planet at the start (not Tatooine I'm thinking though), snowy planet, heavily forested planet, Korriban/Moriband, and some developed planet for Leia to be doing government stuff at (Coruscant?). I'd favor an over 5, but I don't think they're going to go too crazy

I believe the Desert Planet to be Pasher.
    See the second post.

Well consider the context of the quote :

I've outrun Imperial starships - not the local bulk cruisers mind you, the big Correllian ships.

At the beginning of the film (and consistently thru out the trilogy) we saw a big Imperial starship, the Star Destroyers. A starship that just happened to also be a challenge to outrun, even in the Millennium Falcon. Occam's Razor, guys!

I always thought Star Destoyers too. Because, hes basically saying "I've outrun big Correlian Imperial ships". We've only seen two "big" imperial ships: Star Destroyers and a Super Star Destroyer.(not counting Death Stars;)). So if he's emphisizing "big Imperial" it stands to reason that he's talking about star destroyers.

I agree. Its been accepted for so long as "fact" that Han is Correlian. It would serve no purpose but to make long-time fans face-palm if they changed his homeworld (especially since it's a movie-canon planet). Maybe we'll get to see Han go home to Corellia and maybe we'll get to see some "big" ships being built.

It would be a second "Han Shot First" moment.

I think that's an unfair comparison. Han shooting Greedo first was part of his character, it told the audience what kind of person he was, and contributed thematically to the movie. Being from a specific made-up planet is not part of Han's character. It would be refreshing if they did show Correllia, but it wasn't his home world, or even a planet with like rolling hills and cities, or whatever it is supposed to look like.

Was it in The Clone Wars?

EDIT: Well according the Canon tab on the Wookieepedia article on Corellia, it is indeed Han Solo's homeplanet.

I just looked it up - it wasn't in The Clone Wars, but according to that messy Star Wars wiki it was "mentioned" in the book A New Dawn. I haven't read that yet though, so I'm not sure exactly what it said about it.
