So, thanks to the leaked LEGO sets we now have confirmation of the following 3 planets to appear in the film:

    - Corellia
    - Kessel
    - Mimban

Corellia is (as many already know) Han Solo's home planet, and it will be interesting to finally see it visualized in a Star Wars film. I've always imagined it to be like a mixture of Coruscant and Alderaan - in other words, many skyscrapers but also lots of lakes and greenery. There will be a local race of creatures called "Corellian dog", and this is also where the rumored speeder race will take place as evident by the leaks. It remains to be seen if we will see parts of Han's childhood here, too.

Kessel is the mining planet where some (?) organization is mining for spice. No Imperials were part of the Kessel Lego sets, so we can only assume that the planet will be controlled by the Hutts or something like that. We can also expect to see lots of bounty hunters, smugglers and other types of criminals on this planet. Also, the actual "Kessel Run" which will be shown in the film will obviously originate from this planet in some way.

Mimban is a very fascinating setting which I honestly did not expect to see show up in this film. Everyone who knows their old EU knows that Mimban was the place where Luke and Leia crash-landed in search for a Kaiburr crystal and actually battled Darth Vader (Splinter of the Mind's Eye, 1978). Now all of that is not canon anymore of course, but what's even more fascinating is that early concept art for Rogue One used Mimban as a setting before Jedha was developed. And as evident by the leaks, this is where Han and Beckett will disguise themselves as Imperials in order to infiltrate the planet. I wonder what they could be looking for? Could the previous connection to Rogue One mean that Kaiburr crystals will be located on Mimban in this film?

In addition to these 3, there's also a possibility that there will be even more planets shown in the film.

I hope that we don't only see the dirty underworld of Corellia. I'd like to see Coronet.

Aaahhh, yes. Coronet. I wouldn't get my hopes up. A dirty underworld for a dirty smuggler, that's what they're gonna give us in this film.

Why do we 'need' to return to Tatooine? I'm not doubting that it'll probably make an appearance in this film, but probably only to pay fan service. I'd be pleasantly surprised if it doesn't show up, but it will no doubt will.

It being referenced in the concept art for RO as what would go on to be Jedha has me convinced that Mimban is dusty and covered in sand (no doubt Vader would hate this place). The script found in this image, which was shared by director Ron Howard, seems to confirm that:
    47EA5798-54EB-4541-9361-056AAA84BA83.jpeg

This script seems to be based on one used in Ralph McQuarrie’s concept art for the Great Temple of Yavin:

    69002BF6-E014-4E5F-95C3-D930F0077244.jpeg
And so I think we can fairly safely assume that the setting depicted here is on Mimban, and has some ancient connection to some faction of the Force (be it Sith, Jedi or some other group). The appearance of the setting of that image of the script shared by Howard is consistent with these two other images which he shared, so I think we have a fairly good idea of what Mimban is going to look like.

That could be, but I don't see them involving Jedi, Sith or a plot involving that history. Han was the "Atheist" of them all. I always kinda thought that those dusty images from Howard were spice mine interiors.

I’m not at all suggesting that Mimban, or wherever that is, having a possible history of Force user presence means that it involves Force users in the plot in some way.

It would probably serve a similar purpose to Jedha in Rogue One: as a locale where the events of the story pass through, but nothing more (until we get the Visual Dictionary/Guide). They could certainly be the underground mines on Kessel and perhaps not be on Mimban, but my point was more that the background and setting of the images look identical to one another, and the script on the broken stone being the same as the one found in McQuarrie’s art seems to suggest that it could be the site of an ancient temple, so that’s a link I decided to make in favour of it being Mimban.

The image of what was supposedly a spice line on Kessel doesn’t look like it has anywhere near as much dust in the air as the above images (though of course the other images could be situated above ground in relation to the mines):

If rumors are true about them re-using the old Return of the Jedi Jabba puppet I would think we would see Tatooine or maybe Smuggler's Moon (if they are just using the puppet as a base for say Grakkus). Kashyyk also seems like it could be likely.

I'm glad that Star Wars has recently done a lot to expand on the lore, but going to old EU places like Mimban and Corellia is a fantastic idea!

I am not sure that time would have been kind to that puppet, even in storage. If they have the original molds that could work perhaps.

I think the idea was to just use it as the physical stand in. And that they would digitally make it like that want.

Like you said, we can only speculate. I don't expect to see lots of dust inside the actual mines, so who knows really. I kind of expected Mimban to be a jungle swamp, but we'll see.

    #allegedly.

But yeah, that's the rumor at least.

Something from one of the Lego sets.

Mimban is a swampy world im pretty sure. At least thats my impression from the Lego figs.. In the Splinter of the Minds Eye book was it not Swampy? Maybe we will see a Mimbanite. All the dusty, desert looking sets are probably Kessel. Spice is a brownish-red. The Organization OP mentions that controls Kessel would be the Pyke Syndicate as seen in The Clone Wars, and basically confirmed by the Lego Set, as Quay Tolsite definitely seems to be a Pyke. I am excited to finally see Corellia on film.
