That’s one of my biggest wants: the mail away Original Anakin. This is last 17 (or 19 or whatever it was), I guess. I don’t remember them selling Anakin on the shelves in the US. Is that a Canadian, French, or European item? All the mail-in versions I saw for US versions didnt come with a full card.

Is the custom or just an early verion where they used a painting rather than the picture of the character on set?

Looks like a beloved piece. Glad you have still got it, and in such fine shape.
    Thanks

Very cool. I haven’t seen those betamax’s and early VHSs in years.

Thanks! I believe this one was on European shelves, and I too don't remember seeing Anakin on U.S. shelves in the 80's. I managed to pick this one up at a toy show in the early 90's before the Prequel Trilogy was announced. I never knew anyone who had an Anakin as a kid in the 1980's, so I'm curious how kids played with this toy back then. It must have been a lot of fun inventing ways to play with Anakin knowing so little of his backstory at that point.

We weren't rich enough to have Laserdisc :)

The old Betamax served us well throughout the 80's and I still have the machine, I always did prefer it to VHS.

I recently managed to pick up another copy of ROTJ as mine wore out decades ago.

    That’s committing to the bit!!

My dad is a miser but always wants to have top of the line electronics. He got a Betamax like the week they were released. The picture quality on those is better than VHS from the same era.

We never had a Laserdisc, but they seemed clunky and ridiculous.

I am very impressed you’ve kept that thing working all this time.

I wonder what that is worth. Didn’t that figure come WEARING the cloak? And he came with a solid green saber that was in a separate slot in the blister section.

Plus, that is a shot of Han from ANH but that background is confusing the heck out of me.

I guess that was the 78 packaging for Han with a new logo and nothing else changed.

Have you ever gotten that appraised? That’s super rare.

Yes, it’s very puzzling to me. I don’t know much about the European versions of the figures, and I don’t know how rare this is. I’ve never gotten it appraised, as I don’t know where to go to get something like this appraised. If anyone has any suggestions about someone who could appraise it, I’d definitely welcome the input!

Cool. I didn't know that it was released a widescreen version of the SE from 1997, it looks cool in silver. I still have mine with the golden box.

Yes the Silver SE Widescreen came out at the same time as the Gold version and I'm sure it was around £10 more expensive. As a student at the time I opted for the cheaper Gold version.

I mentioned how I bought some Nike trainers (sneakers?) in a reply to a status post by @Grand Master Galen Marek about official Adidas ones the other day...
These were not intended to be official Star Wars gear as far as I know, but I saw these on sale (perhaps they were a return of a custom design?) and as a big R2-D2 fan I was like...(artoo)(r2-d2)(r2-d2 2) Yes, I think I'll get those ... :D

I had this... I must have threw it out with my VCR. If I owned a home I would have kept it. My neighborhood comic book shop has a TV and VCR hooked up. It was so cool watching the original version of TESB while shopping for my weekly books (weekly Star Wars comic books that is). :D

A few Black Series still in boxes and some die-cast metal figures.

May not be worth anything to someone else, but I had fun going after them and socializing with other Star Wars fans.

No. I don't believe those sold very well. I think they were originally around $39. I got those online from the Disney store during a clearance sale a while back. I returned later to get Baze and Chirrut from Rogue One, but they were gone. I need more Rogue One in my collection.
